The award recognizes the best performing logistics provid- ers and top customers of Maersk Line and was presented to Mr Prem Swaroop, Director-Sea Freight (FLUAE), during a ceremony held at Al Bustan Rotana, Dubai. Fast Logistics team was represented by Mr Prem Swaroop, Ms Meera R Menon ( Dpty Director – Sea Freight ) and Mr Sanjay MM (Regional Manager – Africa). FL had participated in WCA Global Conference which took place from 10th March to the 16th March 2016 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in UAE. We were the Silver sponsor for the event and FL teams from India, Africa and UAE had represented us during the event. The conference was very worthwhile and certainly opened doors to new relationships with agents all over the world. FL won the runners up trophy in this years Sharjah Airport Services corporate cricket tourna- ment. 32 teams had participated this year and FL fought their way to finals defeating Lufthansa,Sharjah Duty Free etc. Mohammed PC , the team captain accepted the trophy on behalf of FL Team.

FL wins Maersk Platinum Award 2015 FL received the Platinum Award 2015 by Maersk Line, the world’s largest ocean carrier.

AIR CARGO INDIA EXHIBITION The bi-annual Air Cargo India Exhibition was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai from 23rd to 26th February 2016 where Fast Logistics Cargo participated as an exhibitor. One of the premier Air cargo events of the calendar, this event was a resounding success in terms of the response that was received from not only Shippers and Freight Forwarders, but Airlines who were looking at forging partner-ships in India, Africa and beyond.

The FLC contingent comprised of key senior FLC India figure heads, headed by our CEO – Mr. Peter Scholten who was an invited speaker at the event. FLC and our Aviation wing in India hope to feature in some key strategic long-term partnerships in the future that were forged at this event. This will not only strengthen our presence in India, but also provide wider exposure to both the ‘Fast Logistics’ brand, and our Aviation set up under the ‘Aviation Solutions’ brand.

NEW BRAND FOR OUR INDIAN AVIATION BUSINESS – WORLD NETWORK AVIATION SOLUTIONS INDIA (PVT.) LTD

Having obtained the approval from the registrar of companies in India, our Aviation wing will be re-branded, and the company name changed to World Network Aviation Solutions India (Pvt.) Ltd. The re-branding is in line with our expansion of activities on the aviation front in India and will concentrate on developing CSA, Offline GSA, Online GSA, and GSSA activities in India.

The expansion is planned pan-India and the launching of the new brand is in line with the projec-tions of the Indian Aviation market to significantly increasing in the coming years with the new initiative launched by the current government – ‘The make in India’ campaign. Once fully set up, our Aviation presence will span all the key commercial capitals in India, and the larger secondary satellite cities catering to the manufacturing industries.

3PL LOGISTICS AND WAREHOUSING & DISTRIBUTION

With an aim to be a complete logistics service provider, and to expand the 3PL and ware-housing & distribution capabilities of FLC India, our first warehousing facility has been leased in Whitefield in Bangalore. The facility comprises of 35,000 Sq. Ft and will be predominantly used by one of the leading luggage, Bags, and Outdoor product manufacturers in India - Wildcraft India Pvt. Ltd. to complement their supply chain requirements.

This will be the first of many such facilities, and FLC India are targeting a total 3PL and Warehous-ing & Distribution portfolio comprising of 175,000 Sq.Ft right across India by the end of 2016, with many more global brands spanning various industries keen to support the services of FLC India.

WOMANS’ DAY AT BANGALORE A small session with the gathering of our Lady folks at the Bangalore office, was held in connection with the International Woman’s day on the 8th of March. A short talk on what our women could achieve for the organization was highlighted by Paul Tagore – Head HR Interna-tional. A Bouquet and a Memento was present-ed. The occasion was presided over by Shazul – VP Asia and Sheraz – Director Biz Develop-ment – International.

FLC INDIA TO INTRODUCE LCL CONSOL PRODUCT PAN-INDIA

In a bold move, FLC India will introduce a comprehensive LCL CONSOL product effective April/May 2016 catering to a vast number of destinations out of India. The product is planned to cater to the huge number of manufacturers exporting various commodities via part container loads to all parts of the world. The service will span 6 continents across the globe, and will cater to even the most far reaching places not frequented by many of the current operators. The total targeted TEU’s for 2016 is planned at over 4500, with a further increase during 2017. Watch out for this space on further product and service updates in the future ….

In line with this expansion, the staff strength at FLC India which currently stands at 80 employees, will increase beyond 200 by the end of 2016.

CHALLENGING CHENNAI Our New office at Chennai situated at Guindy which is on the National Highway and close to the Airport, was inaugurated on the 4th of January. After a short introduction of the staff and the Management Heads, Sheraz Bahar, the Director Biz Development – International, presented the Profile of the Company. Paul Tagore – Head HR International spoke on what are the expecta-tion from the Company. Ashok – Regional Head, South India was present and Shazul – VP Asia – presided. This was followed by the HR induction and the Biz Discussion. A Multi cuisine lunch was arranged for the staff at a nearby Star Hotel.

MOVING FORWARD AT MUMBAIOur New office at Mumbai at Andheri East was inaugurated on the 22nd of February. We had a short session of introduction of the staff and the Management Heads. Sheraz Bahar, the Director Biz Development – International, detailed the Profile of the Company. Paul Tagore – Head HR International shared his thoughts on what are the expectation from the Company. Ashok – Region-al Head, South India was present and Shazul – VP Asia – presided. This was followed by the HR induction and the Biz Plan of action was discussed.

TANZANIA

Business volumes have picked up considerably in February following the Presidential elections in November 2015 which saw John Pombe Magufuli Elected in office in a relatively quiet campaign. Under the new Government a number of Energy projects will now kick-off and we expect an estimated 2500 TEU’s originating from India to final destination Tanzania over 2016. The FLC airport office is scheduled to open on 01 April 2016 located at the AFS Cargo Terminal at Dar ES Salaam airport. We anticipate an increase in airfreight volumes on Emirates and Etihad flight with both import DDP and export jobs to Europe and the Far East.

RWANDA / GOMA & BUKAVU

We have agreed on a management contract with Shipping Great Lakes (SGL) regarding our offices in Eastern Congo. On 01 April the FLC Goma staff will relocate to SGL Goma office and on the same date SGL Bukavu staff will take up office in the FLC Bukavu set-up. The Bukavu office will be managed by Andre Kahenga who will be reporting to Wim Verwilt, the MD of SGL in Goma. In Rwanda we have witnessed an upturn in business volumes with a total of 117 TEU’s imported over JAN/FEB 2016. In addition we performed a number of DDP airfreight jobs accommodating large import volumes AMS-KGL on KLM

UGANDA In Uganda we have merged offices with SEKO Logistics East Africa in March but business volumes remained depressed due to the Presidential Elections which saw sitting President Yoweri Museveni remain in office for another term. We welcome new Sales Executive Stephen Rupiia to develop the LCL traffic on the China-Uganda lane.

ZAMBIA In Zambia we have taken on two new Sales Executives in February; Emmanuel Kunda to run the Kitwe office with Sales focus on the Copperbelt area and Thulani Muchimba Muyatwa to develop the China-Zambia route. Mr. Vishal Joshi of FLC China visited Zambia in February to engage in local sales Visits. Sajit Rajan will take over as our new Country Manager Zambia on 01 Aprilon direct transfer from Uganda.

The Congolese carrier’s rapidly spreading network and ECAir’s clear goal to maintain its high opera

tional and service quality, thereby distinguishing itself clearly from most of its African competitors. Incepted only in 2011, ECAir has opened up a number of new domestic and regional routes and intends to further penetrate into the West and Central African region in the coming months. Cur-rently, ECAir’s fleet consists of two Boeing two 737-300s, one 737-700s and two 757-200 for cover-ing intra-African routes. These narrow bodies are complemented by two larger Boeing 767-300s for long-haul flights connecting Brazzaville with Paris and Dubai.Further, two Boeing 787 “Dreamliners” have been ordered and are expected to enter into service in 2016 and 2017, respectively. The airline is also looking to add two more 737s to strengthen its regional and domestic network.
