METrans offers a safe and substantially more efficient way

to transport personnel and equipment in all Data Center

environments—even in close quarters! The design and scale

of METrans Electric Vehicles, and purpose-built Workbench

and Manual Single Lift Cart/Trailers offer full mobility and

specialized, rigid, stable, load carrying transport, as well as

removal and installation of all Data Center IT equipment

not currently available from other manufacturers. Operating

controls of the METrans Vehicle and Cart/Trailers are safe,

easy to use and intuitive from all possible operator locations.

To assure compatibility of operation of the METrans Vehicle with electronic

devices located within Data Centers, METrans has contracted with a

respected, world-wide independent Testing Laboratory. Electromagnetic

Compatibility Testing has been independently performed on the METrans

Vehicle. Testing has been performed to the following standards: Radiated

Emissions Based on CISPR 12; IEC 61000-4-3 Radiated Immunity;

IEC61000-4-8 Power Frequency Magnetic Field Immunity; and IEC

61000-4-2, ESD. Additionally, METrans has undertaken independent

testing to the following elevated Standard (not required for Certification)

MIL-STD-461G, RE 102 Radiated Emissions Electric Field. All test results,

and report are available upon request.

The METrans Manual Single Lift Cart/Trailer (“Lift”) is an industry first—It can be used as a Trailer towed behind the METrans Vehicle (and/or as a second Trailer in conjunction with the METrans Workbench Cart/Trailer) and/or operated independently, as a fully controllable 4-wheel steering Cart in regular and close quarters Data Center environments.

The purpose-built Lift offers the capability of quickly making precise up/down movements, as well as the ability to horizontally cantilever into server cabinets and other equipment a full 24 inches, making the removal and installation of IT Equipment safe and efficient.

The plastic surface of the rigid equipment sliding platform makes movement of equipment up to 650 lbs. (294.83kg) safely manageable. Transport of IT equipment on the Lift can be secured while loaded and in transit with multiple connection points for strapping. The vertical range of the sliding platform is offered in two maximum heights to accommodate most common Data Center cabinet and shelf heights.

The Lift has an, easy to engage, stabilizing braking system, offering maximum stability when the Lift is stopped and the sliding platform deployed. Each tire located on the Lift is pneumatic (available in non-marring composition), mounted to a light weight, cast aluminum wheel with dual rubber seal bearings rated at 290 lbs. (131.54kg) weight capacity, fully capable of safe operation on all office, warehouse and data center floors including raised floor systems.

The METrans Workbench Cart/Trailer (“Workbench”) is another industry first—It can be used as a Trailer towed behind the METrans Vehicle and/or operated independently, as a fully controllable 4-wheel steering Cart in regular and close quarters Data Center environments.

The Workbench Cart/Trailer has a load capacity of 400 lbs. and ample room for tools, test equipment, cabling and replacement parts and has a workbench with a high, shock deadening, anti- static, hard neoprene rubber work surface.

IT Equipment located within any area of Data Centers, can be quickly, safely and efficiently accessed, serviced and repaired using the purpose-built, Workbench.

Safe and Efficient Way to Swap IT Equipment in One Operation

The METrans Micro Data Center Manual Tandem Lift (MTSL)addresses the customer requested capability of removing Server Cabinet IT Equipment and installing replacement equipment in one operation. This increases efficiency over the existing method of using a caster-wheeled, manual push-cart back and forth to the loading dock or equipment room—first, to unload the out-of-service IT Equipment and then, a second trip to transport and install the replacement equipment.

By combining the use of the METrans MT700.01 Vehicle to tow the MTSL as a Trailer, the time savings is greater than 50% over traditional methods, and IT Equipment down-time is substantially mitigated. This translates to a quick payback and realized efficiencies over a long period of time. The METrans MTSL is especially productive in large Data Centers, where IT Equipment changes are common.

The MTSL is also safe for raised floors. For example, the empty weight of the 52U MTSL is 390 lb. (176.901kg) which means the weight per wheel contact patch is 97.5 lb. (44.225kg). When fully loaded the MTSL has a gross weight of 1040 lb. (471.736kg) which equates to a weight per wheel contact patch of 260 lb. (117.934kg).

The MTSL Equipment lifting structure is constructed of Tig Welded Aluminum for lighter weight and lower center of gravity of the Cart/Trailer. Each plastic-topped equipment deck has a 650lb. (294.835kg) weight capacity, and will extend a full 24”(60.96cm), permitting precise alignment of IT Equipment being removed or installed in a Server Cabinet.

Width of 30” (76.2cm) permits travel anywhere the METrans MT700.01 Vehicle will travel. The length of the MTSL is 132” (335.28cm).

Weight capacity of shelf pull-out slides and plastic-topped equipment deck is 650lb. (294.835kg) each. This makes IT Equipment, whether incoming or outgoing, highly maneuverable and easy to negotiate in and out of Equipment Cabinets.

Pre-attached aluminum mounting/tie-down brackets on each plastic-topped equipment deck permit any load to be secured for transport, and easily assessable when securing IT Equipment.

Features of the MTSL Cart/Trailers

Two-speed manual winches, with automatic safety brake permits each plastic-topped equipment deck to be moved up and down by the operator in tiny increments. This permits the operator to easily match the mounting pins of the IT Equipment with the Cabinet.

Stabilizing deployable “Feet” located on the MTSL chassis provide positive support for the MTSL and eliminate much of the rubber tire induced movement when IT Equipment is being installed or removed.

Fully Tig Welded, 14-gauge steel, powder coated 4-wheel steering chassis.

As with every METrans Cart/Trailer, each MTSL is equipped with a removable steering arm, permitting the MTSL to be operated as a Cart, independent of the METrans Vehicle.
