Shopcoatofrustinhibitiveprimeronnon-galvanized surfacesandoperatingmechanisms.Guidesand bracketplateswillbecoatedwithaflatblackprime paint.Stainlesssteelfinishavailable.Curtaincolorwill be[white][green][gray][beige][brown](white, beige,brownonlyavailableas22gauge).Powder coatingisavailablein180colors.
2.07 Operation A. Doorwillbeoperatedbymeansof[chainhoistwith geardrivereduction][motoroperation][liftup] [crank]. Optional[electrical][pneumatic]sensingedgetobe attachedtobottombarto[stop][stopandreverse] thedoorwhenitcontactsanobjectduringthe closingcycle.
2.08 Release Mechanism A. DoorswillbeequippedwithFireStarrelease mechanism,requiringonlyonecabletoberoutedto theoperatedside(cablenotrequiredtoberoutedto adjustingwheelside.)Doorswillclosebyathermally actuatedlinkratedat165degreesF,orbyanoptional listedreleasingdevice,orbymanuallyoperatingthe releasehandle.Allspringtensionshallbemaintained whenthereleasemechanismisactivated.After closingbymanualoperationofreleasehandle,the doorshallbeabletoberesetbyonepersonfrom onesideofthedoor(re-engagingthereleasehandle).
2.09 Governor
A. Ifrequiredbythesizeofthedoor,aviscousgovernor willbefurnishedtoregulatetherateofdescentofthe doorinaquietmanner.Itwillbetheengagement typewhichisnotengagedduringnormaldoor operation,butwhichaftercablerelease,willretard thespeedduringautomaticdoorclosuretounder2’ persecondandnotlessthan6”persecond.
2.10 Labels A. Rollingfiredoorswillbearthe3⁄4(three-quarter) hour,11⁄2(oneandone-half)hour,3(three)houror 4(four)hourlabelprovidedtheyare<=12’high, <=13’6”wide.Theywillbearanoversizetagifthey areover12’highor13’6”wide.Rollingfiredoorswill bemanufacturedinstrictaccordancewiththe requirementsofUnderwritersLaboratories-listed proceduresorFactoryMutual-approvedprocedures, andwillbeartheULorFMlabel(tag).FMlabelis availableforthe3-hourfiredooronly.SmokeTite® ULlabeledsmokecontrol&draftpackage 2.11 Locking A. PART III – EXECUTION 3.01 Installation A. General: 1. Installtherollingfiredoorsinaccordancewith Wayne-Daltoninstructionsandstandards andinaccordancewiththestandardsofthe NationalFireProtectionAssociationStandard80 (NFPA80).Installationandannualmaintenancewill onlybebyatraineddoorsystemstechnician. 2. Verifythatexistingconditionsarereadytoreceive rollingdoorwork. 3. Beginningofrollingdoorworkmeansacceptance ofexistingconditions. B. Fit,align,andadjustrollingdoorassembliesleveland plumbforsmoothoperation. C. Uponcompletionoffinalinstallation,lubricate,test andadjustdoorstooperateeasily,freefromwarp, twistordistortionandfittingforentireperimeter. Note: Architectmayconsiderprovidingaschedulewhen morethanonerollingdoororopeningtype isrequired.
3.02 Testing A. Rollingsteelfiredoorswillbedrop-testedin accordancewithNFPA80andwitnessed,attestingto theirsuccessfuloperationatthetimeofinstallation.
3.03 Maintenance A. PerNFPA80,paragraph15-24.3:Allhorizontalor verticalslidingandrollingfiredoorsshallbeinspected andtestedannuallytocheckforproperoperationand fullclosure.Resettingofthereleasemechanismshall bedoneinaccordancewiththemanufacturer’s instructions.Awrittenrecordshallbemaintainedby thebuildingownerandmadeavailabletotheauthority havingjurisdiction.
