Turn to the person next to you and spend five minutes discussing your answers. Ensure your tables are completed in detail – have you understood the different causes of water vulnerability for each area? Was there more than one cause in each area?
Did you think of these?
TasksAnswer the following in your books:
All: Colour-code the causes in your table into human and physical. Were the causes mainly human or physical?
Who was generally most affected by water vulnerability? Men, women or children? Explain your answer.
Most: Do you think any of the causes are easily preventable? Say which one, and why / why not.
Some: Rank the effects in your table from most serious to least serious. Justify your first and last choices.
And finally...
• Discuss in pairs what you think should be done to address the problem of water vulnerability across the world.
