Blower Controls Upgrade Project Eagle River Water & Sanitation District

new aeration control strategy for secondary biological
treatment.
FEI teamed with NE Controls, Triangle Electric and R.E.
Davis to deliver project in 13 months.
Installed new inlet throttling valves on five, multi-stage
centrifugal blowers having a total capacity of 9,600 scfm.
Installed new flow control valves at each aeration zone to
optimize air input.
Operational control achieved through DO setpoints at each
aeration zone.
New blower control panel utilizes most-open-valve theory to
achieve most efficient blower operation.
$73,000 annual power savings achieved through improved
blower control.
Project payback period of 4.4 years.
