The road will traverse a recharge area
• Most of the proposed roadway East of 34th Street is through a “closed basin” that has no surface outlet.
• The paved 24th Avenue extension will significantly reduce the area where storm water now collects and eventually seeps into the ground.

Any runoff within proposed right of way will have to be stored in a retention basin until the water volume infiltrates into the ground or is lost to evapotranspiration.
