60% NL prone to flooding water safety is huge public task

Dike reinforcement programme:

‐ Every ~5 years update boundary conditions and all (primary) dikes and structures are tested on height and stability / strength

‐ 2001 and 2006 ~ 370 km failed subsidy for reinforcement

‐ 89 projects, 11 Water boards‐ 3 Billion Euro, ~200 – 400 MEuro/year‐ Finished in 2017
