The Dual Enrollment Program  •  The Dual Enrollment Program is a partnership between the

Warren County Community College (WCCC) and Warren Hills High School that allows students to simultaneously earn high school credit AND free, transferrable college credit by completing approved high school courses.

•  Students who complete the coursework through the Dual Enrollment Program will earn credits that are documented on both a Warren Hills High School transcript and a Warren County Community College transcript.

•  Warren County Community College can transfer the college credits to another college that will accept them.

Page 9: Warren&Hills&Regional&High&School& Scheduling&Orientaon ...

The Dual Enrollment Program  •  There are currently 12 courses taught at Warren Hills that

have been approved by the Warren County Community College as meeting the requirements as a dually enrolled course (4 Science, 2 Math, 2 English, 2 History, and 2 Business).

•  The benefits of taking dually enrolled courses include the ability to earn credits that transfer to other colleges. This benefit may not only reduce the cost of post-secondary studies, but may also shorten a student’s duration in college.

•  Parents MUST provide consent prior to student enrollment

in the Dual Enrollment Program.

Advanced  Proficient  (AP)  Courses

hWps://apstudent.collegeboard.org      •  Why  AP?

•  Earn  college  credit  •  More  than  90  percent  of  colleges  and  universi5es  across  the  country  offer

college  credit,  advanced  placement,  or  both,  for  qualifying  AP  Exam  scores.  Exams  are  graded  between  1-‐5.    Scores  of  3  or  higher  are  passing.    Some  universi5es  require  4  or  5’s  to  receive  credit.

•  Stand  Out  in  College  Admissions  •  AP  courses  signal  to  admissions  officers  that  you’ve  undertaken  the  most  rigorous

classes  your  high  school  has  to  offer.  They  see  that  you’ve  challenged  yourself  with  college-‐level  course  work  and  expecta5ons,  and  have  refined  your  skills  to  meet  these  expecta5ons.

•  Skip  Introductory  Courses  •  Taking  an  AP  course  and  earning  a  qualifying  score  on  the  AP  exam  can  help

you  gain  advanced  placement  out  of  introductory  courses.
