Important Health Warning About Playing Video GamesPhotosensitive seizuresA very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching video games.

These seizures may have a variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking nearby objects.

Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms—children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures. The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by taking the following precautions: Sit farther from the screen; use a smaller screen; play in a well-lit room; do not play when you are drowsy or fatigued.

If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing.

USING THE TOP SHOT ELITEThe Top Shot Elite was created to enhance your gameplay. For the best experience, please play 6-8 feet from the TV. The following information will help answer additional questions you may have.

Set-up: Please follow the Quick Start Guide included separately in the box.

Sensor Bar: Turn the sensor bar on. Ensure the front is facing you (“back” is labeled). Place the Sensor Bar above or below the TV and follow the in-game Calibration Tutorial. The tutorial can be viewed when you create a new adventure or by selecting “My Adventure” from the Main Menu and entering Calibrate Controller. You can set the desired amount of time the sensor bar is on with the button on the back.

STARTING A GAMETHE BEGINNING OF YOUR JOURNEYWhen you first play Cabela’s® Survival: Shadows of Katmai™, select a difficulty level and save your profile.

Difficulty Level: With each increase in difficulty level, the threat level becomes more dangerous. Play on a more difficult level you will see a bigger reward at the end.

MAIN MENUFrom the Main Menu, you have three choices

Story: Choose to start or continue your survival adventure.

Shooting Galleries: Choose different challenge modes and locations.

My Adventure: This area allows you to adjust the game’s options, manage your adventure and change the game’s difficulty level.

STORY MODEBecome Logan James, a bush pilot, on a doomed flight that crash lands in the remote Alaskan wilderness. Stranded in a struggle against harsh elements you will fight off ravenous predators, traverse icy cliffs and trek through uncharted caverns. As if the harsh climate and deadly predators weren’t enough, you must also complete a mysterious mission. The lone question is: Can you survive?

THE STORY MODE SCREEN

1 . Objective: Guides you to your next task.2 . Reticle: Use these crosshairs to aim. 3 . Focus Shot Ring: On Reticle. Shows how many Focus Shots you have available.4 . Checkpoint Markers: These mark your progress.5 . Objective Recorder: Keep track of your objectives.6 . Collectible Elements: Search for these floating icons. 7 . Health Meter: Your remaining life.8 . Score: Your total points.9 . Firearm: Icon shows what firearm is equipped. 10 . Ammo Count: This number displays how much ammo you have before you run out.11 . Rounds: How many rounds left in your equipped firearm.

STORY MODE GAMEPLAY

Gameplay ElementsLook, Move & Shooting: Point where you want to look and shoot by moving the on-screen reticle. You can only shoot when Logan has his firearm out.Focus Shot: When attacked, use this ability to slow time and target an animal’s vitals. You have up to four Focus Shots. Once used, they refill over time.Melee: Use this to fend off predator attacks and buy yourself time.Dodge: Avoid predator attacks by rolling out of harm’s way.Firearm Selection: Different firearms have different abilities. Open the Firearm Selection menu to change firearms.Climbing: Look for ledges and other hand-holds to climb up cliffs and structures. Jumping: Close big gaps by jumping over treacherous terrain. Ice Axe & Grapple Gun: Propel yourself across gaps too large to jump with the help of these salvaged tools.Dog Sledding: Steer left and right to avoid obstacles and stay alive.Togo: Your faithful sled dog will help point you in the right direction. He can also find hunting opportunities and help you in fights.Campfires: Light a fire to save your progress, refill your health and refill Focus Shots.Collectibles: Look for hidden items like journal pages and map pieces (each map piece unlocks a shooting gallery).

SHOOTING GALLERIESShoot big game animals and predators with your rifle. Switch to your shotgun for birds and fowl. Shooting certain animals will drop Perks which you shoot to get power ups when activated. Keep an eye out for forks in the path where you can shoot a special arrow sign to choose which way you want to go next.

Shooting Galleries OptionsSurvival: No help is coming. Fend off ceaseless predator attacks and survive as long as you can.Trek: The hunting trail is swarming with game. Don’t miss any targets to maximize your score.

Quick Draw: Avoid getting hit by predators and keep scoring points to earn successive firearm upgrades. Challenges: Play any single player shooting gallery and create a Challenge out of your best stats. See if any of your friends can rise to your challenge.

1 . Timer: The time left or time played (depends on mode).2 . Health Meter: Your remaining life.3 . Reticle: Use these crosshairs to aim.4 . Perk Icon: (A) The queued Perk and (B) The active Perk.5 . Score: Your total points.6 . Firearm: Shows what firearm is equipped.7 . Rounds: How many rounds left in your equipped firearm.8 . Lap Number: Number of times you’ve completed a circuit.9 . Players: In simultaneous multiplayer, each player has their own Score and HUD.

MULTIPLAYER GAMEPLAYPlay the exciting co-op Survival Shooting Galleries where you and your friend share a health meter as you face wave after wave of dangerous predators.
