• Unable to get U.N. support, the U.S. led by Bush acted on it’s own (With the U.K.)

• Shock and Awe-Massive Bombing, followed by successful invasion-under 2 months

• Poor Planning – The U.S. didn’t account for different ethnic groups Sunni/Shia/Kurds

• There were no WMDs

• Civil war erupted and killed over 100,000 Iraqis and many U.S. troops
