the right side• I’m going to show you how to analyze the

poem “Po Bo’ Blues” by Langston Hughes using the TWIST method

mind• Make notes as you read• Fill out your section of the TWIST chart on page 20• Don’t forget your textual support (quote from the

poem!)• You have 15 minutes to complete your part of the

chart

• Discuss your answers with your group• Check each other’s work (you do want a good grade

don’t you?)• Develop your theme and thesis statement. Remember

they should both be COMPLETE SENTENCES!• Create a TWIST chart on the poster to present your

findings to the class• You don’t necessarily have to use the same graphic organizer. You can

be creative. Just make sure what you design has all the necessary elements.

• You have 25 minutes to do this

• You are going to pass your poster to the group on your RIGHT (we’re going clockwise)

• Work with your group to fill out the analysis sheet– Everyone should turn in the completed sheet. If

anyone in the group is missing the sheet the whole group will get points off. HELP EACH OTHER!

• Make sure you are KIND to other groups– No overtly negative remarks or ugliness please

• You have 30 minutes to complete your analysis
