Mike Searle remembersplaying the simpleyet addictive MissileCommand, and the daysof Atari Adventure, where your squarehero could end up in ahollow dragon stomach. His desire to play computer games intothe wee hours of the morning really tookhold when his parents made him playoutside, instead of on the console, so thefirst chance he got, he bought a PC to playthe Ultima series, Doom, and countlessothers. Mike started working with PrimaGames in 2002 and has written more than30 strategy guides, including Lord ofthe Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar,

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, DarkMessiah: Might and Magic, Pirates ofthe Burning Sea, and several guides in theTom Clancys Ghost Recon and Splinter

Cellseries. He cant wait for thoughttechnology, so game controls can catch upwith his brain and stop all that needlessin-game dying. At least, thats what hekeeps telling himself about his FPS killratio.

Yesterday you woke up to the fields and the chickens and a home-cooked dinner. Today,Mayhem. A plague chokes the land, and rumors say the old Thornland Estate atop themountain has dead men that will not die. Even Mayor Hallenstern hasnt received a

courier since the emperors proclamation that war has erupted in Karak Eight Peaks. What can one man do with a pick axe and shovel?

When you enter the world of Warhammer Online, you truly are in an Age of Reckoning, with the realms of Order on the brink of annihilation. Its a massive confrontation of Dwarfs vs. greenskins (Orcs and Goblins), High Elves vs. Dark Elves, and Empire vs. Chaos in exciting battles withmonsters or Realm vs. Realm combat that pits player against player. Whether this is your first MMO (massively multiplayer online) game oryoure a seasoned veteran of virtual worlds, you havent seen it alluntil youve experienced WAR.

    THE ART OF WAR

WHAT MAKES THIS GAME GREATYou choose to join one of six races, andthose realms go head to head in globalbattles called Realm vs. Realm (RvR)combat. Dwarfs, High Elves, and the Empire are on the side of Order, while greenskins, Dark Elves, and Chaos ally as the forces of Destruction.Everything that you docompleting quests, winning scenarios, conquering keeps, and battlefield objectivescontributes victory points toward

controlling the games various zones, with the ultimate goal to enter the enemys capital city and defeat its king. Only when the kings head is on apike displayed for all your kin to see will you feel the ultimate satisfaction of a champion.

WARhas hundreds of exciting quests throughout the world, though none so unique as the public quests. When you enter a location where a publicquest occurs, you automatically join the quest, fighting side by side with any allied players in the area. These cooperative quests unfold over severalstages and give solo players the opportunity to experience the thrill of party adventuring and tremendous treasure rewards.

With so much going on in the game, its fortunate that you have a Tome of Knowledge that tracks your every action. The Tome unlocks lore, monster information, new abilities, and story revelations as it records the achievements of your life. Whenever you want to review a past accom-plishment, just read through the Tome.

The best part of all this? You dont have to journey alone; guilds thrive in the game and allow like-minded players to work together to capturekeeps and accomplish other goals. The games advanced guild features give unprecedented options for leaders and members. You can createunique heraldry, carry standards out onto the battlefield to gain special abilities, and earn Guild Tactics that grow in power along with the guildenrollment.

From maximizing healing and damagewith the High Elf Archmage to deploying the perfect pet as the greenskin Squig Herder, you can master the strategies of any of 20 careers inrecord time. Plus, weve jammed the guide full of detailed maps for every zone, RvR tips for besting the most ruthless scenarios and battlefields, tables of loot rewards, and more!

It may take decades to decipher every keep and castle, trainer and traitorif you didnt have this handy game guide to reveal the infinite secretsof WAR!

    THIS ISNT YOUR

    MOTHERS MMO GUIDE

Creating a guide for an MMO is no easy task. Not only are thesesome of the deepest and most complex games ever created, but fromthe moment theyre conceived, theyre being balanced and changed. Sohow do you write about a game that is constantly changing? What doyou say about a skill thats forever being balanced? At first this was a

monumental challenge, but then we began to look at it objectively. Most players are going to procure ever-changing loot tables, skill lists, itemstats, etc. from a place that has up-to-the-minute accuracy: the internet. So how do we compete with the internet when we have to write, design, print, and ship to stores, while they can just log on and make a change? The answer is: We dont. We let the internet do what it does best, and wefocus on what we do best: writing expert strategy.

When we met with Mythic in the fall of 07, we told them our approach to thebook. To say they were excited would be an understatement. They had noticed, just as we had, the discrepancies between print and internet content and hadtheir own concerns, which this approach addressed. They began to drop tomeafter tome of Warhammerlore in front of us, bizarre books filled with nothingbut background lore and fantastic art. We arent interested in a book filled withtables, they said to us. We want an artifact! We dont care about stats and stuff forthis book. We want this book to be cool and weird and for players to pick it up andfeel like they have a piece of the game in their hands.

This is the approach that we have taken with both the guide and the atlasfor Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Inside youwill find few stats but tons of strategy and lore, few hardnumbers but tons of flavor and insight. Be kind though, dear reader. Although we have endeavored to fight, farm,

quest, and dive into the depths of this game, it is an ever-evolving, constantly changing world. Things are goingto morph and change, and we are going to have inaccuracies;this is unavoidable.

To address these issues, we have put in place a team of authorswho will continue to modify and correct the guide as the contentevolves. These errata and updates will be posted on our site, andwe will endeavor to do so as close to patch date as we can. Toreceive these guide updates, visit our site at www.primagames.com (well even e-mail you when new content is posted).

ENGINEERWench! Bring me ale, fer tomorrow I march on Karag Dron, an then well reclaim Karak EightPeaks! Aye, I was there when those stinking Orcs an Goblins came right through th bleedin wall

an broke into th fortress. Id have plugged that hole meself if High King Thorgrim Grudgebearerhad not commanded me ta escort th youngns ta safety.

AHtheres me ale! Now ye see, I was down in th armory working on a new thrower, when RenkelStronghammer came in an he says, Lets go lads. Theres a job ta be done, an we have th honor of doinit. Never one ta look ill at a job what needs doin, I figgered it was important enough fer them ta send Renkelhisself, sos I said Id do it. Besides, he said we had our weight in gold coming if we succeeded.

So I set aside th new thrower an went ta do me duty fer me king an country. What? Yes, I think that thrower was good enough ta save thday. But ye see, when yer king calls, ye stop drinking an do th task set fer ye. Aye? So we gathered up all th lads an lasses that were millinround th back gate an led em out ta safety.

Ye think yer wantin ta be an Engineer, do ye? Well, ye must have a steady hand an a keen eye. Its not all th gold, beer, an feasting ye may haveheard about. Although plenty of it is, ocourse.

We must make sure th world remembers Dwarfs when thbattle is over an peace reigns again. An th only way we

be about gettin that done is wit th proper application ofexplosives. Our Ancestors be cryin fer vengeance, an itsup ta us ta deliver it with a very loud message. Ye knowwhat I always say? Aint nothin that cant be solved with aproper, large application of high explosives!

    By Bril

    p

What is an Engineer? The Engineers of the Dwarfs are skilled at delivering vast quantitiesof damage to their foes from a distant, protected, or even hiddenposition. Despite their bluster, these Dwarfs do not excel in hand-to-hand combat. If pressed into fisticuffs, they rely on little morethan a trusty spanner to fend off the forces of Destruction. But theyshine brilliantly when permitted to stand far away from an opponentand fire their vast array of ingenious weaponry at the target while itstruggles across a trap-strewn killing field. Why stand in harms waywhen you might simply strike enemies dead from a distance throughthe clever harnessing of explosives?

An Engineer is most effective when operating behind a tankanarmored ally capable of absorbing a great deal of damage whilelocking an enemy in melee a distance from the Engineerand ahealer who can undo a great deal of damage in case Plan Tank failsor the enemy can strike from range as well. Accompanied by suchallies, the keen eye and deadly aim of an Engineer can lay down afield of fire that will wither all but the most resilient foes.

Additionally, Engineers can dictate enemy movement through theprecise placement of trip wires, explosives, incendiary devices, andthe like, all of which gives them greater opportunity to engage theirenemies from a distance.

Engineers do not know how to heal themselves in battle withoutthe use of potions or similar magical items. Their delicate workis possible only in light armor, so they take damage fairly easily. However, they are very effective in the proper use of explosives, which is often the skill that matters most.

Oftenthis allows said nuisance the opportunity toshoot the afflicted in the face. Last year,Turrets Syndrome was a contributingfactor in 75% of all cases of prematuregreenskin fatality, and is the fourth-leading unnatural cause of death amongSquigs.

Common Causes of Turrets Syndrome:Dwarfs, massive alcohol consumption bynon-Dwarfs, and PvP server lag.

Prognosis: If left untreated, Turrets Syndrome symptoms abate once theoffending machine has been reduced to smithereens. However, lingering

Yes, I know yer travelin with friendsa lot. Then ye can be usin Steady Aim

an Well-Oiled Machine. Them togetherbe th best fer th group: increasing yer damage

an helping ta keep th Priest alive by pullin aggro tayer turret. Ifn ye be in a group an clearin a publicquest, switch over ta Steady Aim, an Clever Recovery.Because yer turret be drawing any unwanted aggro,

this configurationll be th most effective in a group, increasing yer damage an keepin yer action points up.

There be no certain classes or schools or ancestors whenit comes ta Tactics. It be up ta you ta decide on th bestcombination fer th situation an load those abilities. Yecan even preload em an have em ready. Tactics abilitiesbe passive, an they help form th baseline fer ye andefine how successful ye will be. As me Mammy usedta say, If greenies had any brains, they would rememberwho their mothers werethar be no way ta talk boutall th possibilities ye might find yerself in. So trydifferent ones an find what makes ye happy.

MasteryBy th time ye hit Rank 40, ye will have earned a totalof 25 Mastery points. Each skill tree takes 15 pointsta obtain th maximum ability in that tree. Yet eachability in th tree ye decide ta take will cost ye morepoints ta activate. So th initial ability will cost yethree Mastery points ta activate it an one more fer atotal of four points ta use that ability. Activation ofeach following ability will cost ye a total o three more points. So ifn ye want ta max out one path, ye canna activateany other skills. If ye choose not ta reach th top rank of a specific path, then ye can spread yer Mastery abilities across th trees. However ye chooseta put em all together, ye only can spend a maximum of 25 points. So what ancestor will ye be followin ta learn yer Mastery skills? Ye have threepaths ta choose from.

Path of the Tinkerer: If turrets are yer favorite way ta kill greenskins, then choose th Path of the Tinkerer. Th turrets are useful in layin outdamage that ye dont have ta worry about firin. If ye follow this path, ye will be able ta play yer turrets an create an ode ta death fer thosesmelly greenies ta appreciate.

Path of the Grenadier: Or maybe yer idea of a good time be usin explosives? Then th Path of the Grenadiers likely ta be where ye want ta bespend Mastery points. Here ye refine yer talents fer usin grenades an bombs, increasin th effects of those lil wonders, an makin greenies

pay even more dear fer walkin th face o our world.

Path of the Rifleman: But ifn ye prefer th old-school meaning of BANG! Yerndead!, then maybe ye were made fer followin th Path of the Rifleman. Next ta

yerself, snipersll seem like squint-eyed layabouts who na could hit th broadside of abarn! But yer still an Engineer, so th rounds ye use are beyond comprehension fer

th normal soldier. Ye can lay waste ta all what stand before ye with a couplepulls a th trigger.

Ye need ta be deciding early on what yer specialty area will be. Thdownside ta Mastery abilities is that ye cannot reset them on th fly.

It requires talkin ta a Trainer an havin em reset, an that costscoin that ye could spend on ale!

RenownThere be three levels ta Renown abilities, an ye must spend 20 pointsin each level ta access th next. There be a total o 60 points awarded,an ye gotta decide how ta distribute em throughout th differentchoices.

If ye spends some time killin greenies an their Chaos allies, ye shouldeventually get ta Rank 11 in yer abilities an a Renown rank of at least5. How many points ye have ta work with all depends on how muchtime ye spend in RvR instead of doin tasks. At Renown Rank 5, ye

have five points ta spend. A wise course might be spendin four points in Marksman anone point in Fortitude. This assumes ye spend most of yer time shooting things from a

distance, an dont get hit much. If ye get hit more frequently, or likes ta solo a lot, yemight consider puttin a few more points ina Fortitude.

As ye continue ta gain ranks, th points just keep rollin in. At Rank 21, ye have sixMastery points ta spend in yer chosen tree. At Renown Rank 10, ye have 10 points taspend with yer Renown Trainer. Ye might consider spendin points so as ta continuebuildin up Marksmen an Fortitude, then start gainin Blade Master fer added meleedamage.

Once ye reach Rank 31, yeve gained most of yer regular abilities an ye now have 16points o Mastery an 18 points o Renown. If ye sniped enough Destruction, ye might

een have reached Rank 20. Increase Blade Master an take Fortitude ta Level III as yecontinue ta move up th ranks.

Play until ye reach Rank 40. When ye do an have 30 Renown ranks, ye will have 25 Masteryan 30 Renown points ta spend in character development. By this time, ye should have picked

yer Mastery path, so now ye can respecialize an start over as ye gain points. Ye should haveMarksmen IV an Fortitude IV, so take Sharp Shooter II. Then stick th leftover points back in Blade

Master, or yer might pick up some resistances fer Renown abilities.

Now ye have reached th max rank fer abilities, but ye will continue ta gain Renown points until ye reach Rank 60. When ye have reached thisexalted statean ta be sure, a good many songsll let th rest o us know ye done itye will be viewed as an ancestral god among Dwarfs of lesserranks. Th Marshes be where ye find th first RvR area, wit one-way doors ta bothth Dwarf zone an th greenskin zone. Start earnin Renown points here anusin em ta adjust abilities an be findin th path what makes ye happy

playin. Renown points be earnable only in an RvR settin, an ye can earn embest by droppin turrets an usin explosives in th fight gainst Destruction.

Once ye have driven Destruction from th Marshes, climb th mountains ta BlackFire Pass. This area holds more than one scenario, so be makin sure ye join thone where ye wants ta fight.

As ye leave th Badlands an continue on yer journey ta reach Eight Peaks anjoin yer fellow Oathbearers, stop by th Shrine of Grimnir in Kadrin Valley taclear th area of ungors an reclaim th altar. If ye tire of th Dwarf lands, travel ta th High Elves, fer ye knows theyllneed help. Or remember th Oath yer ancestors gave ta th manlings in Praag andstand against th forces of Destruction there.

Group PlayIf ye be travelin with friends, yer role be ta provide damage from far enough away that yecan use yer firearm. This be where th ability ta change Tactics is th most useful at later ranks. When ye be helpin a quest, yer best bet be ta cause damage. Drop a turret an be throwin grenadesta debuff th mobs. Yer also good fer pullin a foe from a distance sos th main tank can grab aggro while ye

shed hate usin Addling Shot. Now, if yer in a PQ, th startin stage be much like normal questin. Yer enemiesre not that strong an ye be findin turrets very useful fer drawinth foes ta somethin other than a character, so set their aggression high. Most PQs seem ta have a fast respawn rate, but when th PQ tips an goes tath second or final stage, things change fast. Make sure th main tank grabs aggro, then set yer turret ta defensive an tell it ta shoot yer target. Thenstart shootin yer target yerself while tossin grenades an bombs. Stay close by yer healers an shoot til yer barrel is white-hot. If ye need ta, douseit with beer an shoot some more. Course, I prefer ta pour beer down me gullet than on me trusty shooter, but ye gotta do what ye gotta do.

When in a scenario, ye be most effective when yer shootin yer rifle an throwin explosives at th enemy.Destruction forces can be stout foes, an yer party will need yer strength ta stand victorious. Explosive Shots willcause damage ta multiple foes, helpin ye build Renown points. Likes I told ye before, RvR is th only way ta

build Renown points. Th more foes what falls ta yer sharp shootin, th more ye earn. So both yerself an yerwarband are best served by th smart deployment o explosive devices.

IRONBREAKERHello thar lad! Whats yer name? What be it? Cat got yer tongue? Ha ha, well get ye over that soonenough. Names Baalim, and I ave been tasked by High King Throgrim Grudgebearer ta train ye new

Ironbreakers properly so as we can get rid o this green menace once and fer all. Ye know lad, I was therein th bloody thick of it when this all began.

Them blasted greenskins blew a hole right through th walls of Karak Eight Peaks. I fought and killed somany, but they just kept comin through. They took me captive and forced me ta watch em tear down ourglorious statues and destroy things me ancestors worked hard ta build. For th luck o me ancestors, I broke freewhile my guards was asleep, and managed ta escape back here ta Ekrund. Ive killed more greenskins than most Dwarfs have seen in ages, and thatthrong was at least 10 times greatern all them put together. Those greenies got th best of me at Karak Eight Peaks. Itll not be happenin again.Well get our revenge on em.

Blast! Where was I? Oh right, yer trainin. Lets see what yeve got ta start with, and well go from there. Yep, I said trainin! Ye think ye have whatit takes ta look a Black Orc in th eye and call him names now? Just because ye be a Dwarf, it dont mean yer ready fer nuthin like that yet. Ye gotsome trainin ta get through first. Go get into yer armor, beardling!

Yell be stayin near Mordrins Anvil whileye learn th basics of bein an Ironbreaker.

First, bein an Ironbreaker means yer anose-ta-greenie melee fighter. We dont playwith no fancy magic or any o that nonsense.Brute force be our game, an we do it well.An Ironbreaker relies on is strength and isdefenses ta survive th foes attacks. Then, when th timin be right, he beats em downwith his axe. Th only weakness ye need tafear be ranged fighters. Ye see, all that armorbe heavy, and yell have ta close th distancewith em ta attack. Its a good thing thatonce ye hit em a few times, they start tryinta escape. An Ironbreakers specialty be hisability ta survive, and ta keep his friends alive

while doin so. When facin monsters, yer rolebe ta take th beatin while yer friends do thdamage.

An Ironbreakers most important possessionsbe his armor. Yer goin ta be right up therewith them greenies, beatin em down withyer axe. Without good armor, they can dosome damage ta ye. Startin with th familyheirlooms be good, but youll be wantin taupgrade em pretty quick.

What is an Ironbreaker? The resolute Ironbreakers, being durable melee-combat experts, most oftenserve a role in their war parties commonly referred to as the tank. Amongthe Dwarfs, it is the Ironbreakers who stand in harms way, holding theground between their allies and those who would try to do them harm. MostIronbreakers are well equipped for this dangerous role with the knowledgeto don and fight in heavy armor, an adepts grasp of defensive stratagemsand their proper deployment, and the stamina to heft a stout shield. WhileIronbreakers are well versed in the use of axes and other offensive weapons,it is their ability to selflessly withstand the brunt of the enemy assault sotheir friends might accomplish their goals that makes Ironbreakers the

backbone of Dwarf warfare.A lone Ironbreaker can tackle daring adventures without aid. By simplyexchanging their typical pairing of axe and shield for a two-handed greataxe,Ironbreakers become far more effective at actually dispatching enemies. That being said, you will still most likely find Ironbreakers at the vanguardof a group of adventurers, accomplishing the tasks for which they were born:leading a group of brave souls, and absorbing the brunt of the damage.

Being an Ironbreaker requires patience and skill. These stout myrmidonsperform best when grouped with other classes of adventurer, as theirdefensive abilities, desire to protect allies, and natural leadership qualitiescan make such a group far more effective. Ironbreakers will find exceptionalsynergy with companions who are versed in the healing arts, and such a

    pairing unleashes almost unstoppable interactions.

It takes a relatively long time for an Ironbreaker to hone his martial skillsto the pinnacle of their potential. Be assured that time will not be wasted, astheir bravery and companionship are valued by all who fight on the side ofOrder.

We once ad a glorious empire, with great cities like Karak Eight Peaksand Altdorf. We been in a battle with th greenskins long as th grayesto beards can remember, and now are driven from our glorious citiesand walls back into Ekrund and beyond. Nowadays, were a proud race, recallin th great battles and victories of our ancestors. Th worldwe knew as changed, thanks ta th failures of th Humans and th pointy-eared High Elves. Now, looks like they be needin us ta save theirhides again.

We may not be in all our ol cities, but that don mean th glory daysre over. We be plenty proud of bein th best ale drinkers in th land. Noone can put away more ale than a Dwarf. And in case you were wonderin, th only thing we likes better than an ale, if you can imagine such athing, be gold. As a matter of fact, gold be one of th few things that can draw a Dwarf from his seat in th local tavern.

We now find ourselves in allegiance with them point-eared High Elves, and with th Humans o th Empire, an we may well have ta do theirjob fer em if anything is ta be done right. At th same time, our king, High King Throgrim Grudgebearer, be plannin ta take back th landthat belongs ta us, all th way back ta Karak Eight Peaks.

Yell start yer adventures in Ekrund, at Mordrins Anvil. This be an area in th Bitterstone Mine that th Dwarfs have taken back from thgreenskins. There youll find friendly Dwarfs, a furnace, a mineshaft, a local tavern, hordes o greenies ta smasheverything a Dwarf needsfer a relaxing holiday! Youll begin your adventures by doin some work fer Tharik Redaxe. Hell assign you your first task: killin Squigsin th mineshaft. Check your map fer th location marked and head there. Dont forget ta talk ta th other Dwarfs on th way, as they can giveye hidden lore, more quests, an even train ye as yer gainin ranks. Do all th quests around th Anvil before you head out ta th bridge.

On tother side of th bridge, yell find more Dwarfs with quests fer ye and yer first public quest: th Battle of Bitterstone. This probablybe yer first chance ta be a tank fer a group. Ta tackle a public quest, every group needs a good tank fer th champions and fer th boss. Th tankprobably be th most important person in th group, because he keeps th hard-hittin enemies from hittin is friends. Matter of fact, this is trueeven in normal questin groups, as keepin yer friends alive will always be good fer ye. In th public quest, ye can earn influence and get ye some nicerewards. Join a group there if ye can find one, and help th Dwarfs take back Bitterstone Mine once and fer all. Once you finish all th quests, head

ta Redhammer Station ta cool off with some ale and see what avails ye there.

    IRONBRE

    AKER

    GEAR

Ironbreakers wear heavy armor and generally wield an axe and ashield. However, it be possible ta wield a greataxe in place of these.Yer gear choices will depend on yer preferences. If ye be th type

that enjoys leadin a group of friends into battle and takin themgreenskins attacks fer yerself, then focus on armor with goodstats in Wounds, Armor, Block Rating, and Toughness. Wounds

will increase yer health, which allows ye ta take more beatinbefore ye needs ta be healed. Armor reduces th damage of each hit

ye take, Block Rating increases yer chance ta block incominattacks (with yer shield), and Toughness also decreases th

damage ye take by increasing yer Armor. Ye can get

resistances ta th different types o magic damage, too,so dont ignore those. But ye should focus more onth primary stats so ye can draw, and keep, th most

    attention.

On th other hand, if ye be th type who wants ta dishout th damage, then Strength and Weapon Skillshould be yer primary focus stats, along with th

damage of yer weapon. Strength causes yer attacksta do more damage, and Weapon Skill reduces yerchance ta miss or be blocked or parried when yeattack.

That be th kind of gear choices a tank shouldbe makin. Either way, yer armor usually bemore important than yer weapon, thoughupgradin weapons will be necessary along thway. Be choosin gear that gives ye th biggest

    upgrades.

Ironbreakers are generally good fer gettin in thway o th enemy. They cant cut ye down, cant blowyou away with fancy magics, and cant use lotserfancy abilities ta get round ye. Ye can absorb lotso damage, especially with a shield, which makes yemuch harder ta kill than th sissier classes. Ye alsohave abilities that makes ye (and even yer friends)tough, and ways ta debuff enemies that slow em, reducetheir attack damage, or even immobilize em fer a little while.

Ironbreakers arent genrally built ta deal lotsa damage compared ta other classes, either, which makes it take longer ta kill an enemy. This can be a problem when

ye be adventurin solo. Due ta th loweramount of damage, th rate at whichyou kill enemies is slower too, so

    GOLD (PVE)

Solo PlaySolo play aint an Ironbreakers strong point, but yell have ta bespendin a bit o time adventurin on yer own. Soloin quests andgrindin experience by killin monsters and Destruction forces be agood way ta earn yer ranks. Yell start out with four abilities besides

Auto Attack: Grudging Blow, Axe Toss, Oath Friend, and Flee.Oath Friend be only usable on a groupmate, so well cover that ina bit.

Rank 110Ye wants ta begin a solo fight by standin off at some distance from th enemy ye plan on whompin. Then, go ahead an use Axe Toss ta pull thamonster ta youand away from his friends! Be followin that up with a few Grudging Blows, and itll be dead soon enough. As ye learn VengefulStrike and Guarded Attack, use em first ta get th buffs from embothll be increasin yer defensive stats fer a time afta ye use emthen use emas needed ta refresh that buff. Binding Grudge be good fer keepin monsters from gettin away from ye. At Rank 5, yell learn Heavy Blow, whichshould be replacin Grudging Blow in solo play due ta its increased damage. At Rank 9, start mixin in Knock Ye Silly ta increase ta th damage yedeal ta yer enemies. Use th attacks that give ye buffs ta refresh th buffs, and otherwise use Heavy Blow. So, by Rank 9, yer attack chain should belookin somethin like: Grudging Blow, Heavy Blow, Vengeful Strike, Knock Ye Silly, Heavy Blow, Binding Grudge, Grudging Blow, VengefulStrike, Heavy Blow.

Rank 1120Use th same attacks yes been usin, but start mixin in a Kneecapper and a Rune Etched Axe (especially when facin multiple monsters). Alwayskeep yer defensive buffs from Grudging Blow and Vengeful Strike refreshed. When you learn Away With Ye, keep it handy ta temporarily keep

a monster from damagin ye. Also be usin Stubbornas Stone when facin magic ta reduce th damage yebe takin from them pesky casters so ye can kill themeasier. Be usin Juggernaut when snared ta break freeand close th gap with em. Startin at Rank 10, yell beearnin Mastery points. Use th abilities ye learn withthose when ye needs ta improve yer damage or defenses.

Ranks 2140Yell still be usin roughly th same abilities fer solo

play. Use Stonebreaker ta reduce enemies armor, specially on Chosen and Black Orcs. Deliver aPunishing Blow ta damage them that be tryin ta runaway. Mix these abilities, as well as other Masteryabilities, where they be needed, but focus on keepinyourself alive first.

Group PlayAn Ironbreaker always be most effective in a group, specially when that group be havin at least one person

ta heal and one more ta deal some damage. When ye be in a group, always be selectin a group member as yerOath Friend. Many o yer abilities also trigger buffs fer your Oath Friend, increasing their defenses, healin, and

damagin abilities. But its share and share alike as any damage they takell be returnin ta ye as Grudges. Ye can place yerOath Friend on any player in yer group. Placin it on a healer usually helps th group more, especially when they be castingroup heals. Monsters build a lot of hate toward persons what keep healin their dinner, so yer ability buffs that also affectyer Oath Friend will increase his defensive abilities, and sometimes his ability ta heal in general. However, yer healer be

most likely ta avoid dealin damage many times, as he be busy healin people, so yell not be granting many damage bonusesif yer Oath Friend be a healer. Now, if ye be havin a damage dealer that th monsters seem ta hate more than yer healer,ye can cast Oath Friend on them. They still be getting th same buffs ta their defenses, without th healin buffs of course, however they also be getting buffs that will increase th damage they be doin. Generally, its best ta cast Oath Friend onth friend that is gonna bring more hate, because when a monster hits em, ye be getting Grudges.

A really good use fer Oath Friend is ta cast it on another tank in th group, because yell most likely both be takin somehits, and th buffs will work wellespecially if two Ironbreakers use it on each other. Youll also be wantin ta use yershield normally when ye be in a group.

Ranks 110Start out with a few Grudging Blows ta build some hate from th monster yer group be killin. Follow that up with aGuarded Attack and a Vengeful Strike ta get yer defensive buffs goin. Keep them two buffs up, and use Grudging Blowliberally ta keep th monster on ye. Once ye have learned th ability, keep Taunt applied ta th monster ta reduce its damage

output on yer friends and increase his hate fer ye. Be mixin in Shield of Reprisal and Shield Sweep ta generate moreGrudges when ye can.

Ranks 1120Be mixin in Kneecapper and Stubborn as Stone where possible. Ye canalso use Guard ta reduce th damage ta one of yer friends if th monsterdecides ta turn ta em. Away With Ye an Rune Etched Axe be well usedta knock monsters away/down ta defend yer friends. Hold the Lineworks well fer yer friends with ranged attacks, but if yer friends are meleefighters, it not be affectin em as they have ta stay behind ye.

    Ranks 2140

Yer standard abilities stay pretty much th same, just as they do insolo PvE. Use Watch an Learn ta increase yer damagin an helpregenerate some AP fer yer Oath Friend. Grip of Stonebe a good way ta get monsters away from yer healer, atleast temporarily. Finally, when ye learn PunishingBlow, mix it into th attacks whenever possible.

As yer likely figurin out, it be impossible tause all th Ironbreakers abilities in one battle. What makes a good Ironbreaker great belearnin which abilities ta use an when tahelp yer group win th fight. Your job ingroup play be not ta kill th monsters, but rather, ta defend your groupmatesso theys can kill th monsters. Ferexample, if ye be fightin a singlemonster, use Taunt, Grudging Blow,Guarded Attack, Vengeful Strike, anHeavy Blow liberally. However, ifye be fightin a group of monsters, use

Challenge stead of Taunt, Rune EtchedAxe stead of Heavy Blow, ShieldSweep often, and use any other ability yehave that damages multiple targets. If yebe tankin two hard-ta-kill monsters, use thmulti-target abilities, but switch between thtargets fairly often ta make sure ye be gettinhate fer both of em.

LEVELIN UPYell be traininat Mordrins Anvil.Find Tharik Redaxe an talk

ta him ta get started on yer first adventure, killin Squigs. Pick up all th quests available ta ye, and get em done in any order that strikes yer fancy.Yell also want ta find th class trainer, over by th collapsed mine shafts, so that ye can train new abilities, and th merchant, so ye can sell unwantedstuff ye pick up from th monsters ye be killin. Yell find these people shown as dots on your mini-map.

At Rank 1, Grudging Blow and Auto Attack will be yer primary means o killin monsters fer now. So get goin shortbeard! Go kill th blastedSquigs! Yell also pick up a couple more quests on th way that ye can be doin at th same time. Before ye know it, yell be earnin a new rank.Often, when ye earn a new rank, a new ability becomes available from yer trainer, so check with em when you rank up and train whatever beavailable. As ye gain ranks, start usin Vengeful Strikes and Guarded Attacks ta keep th buffs from em up, so ye be takin less damage while killinmonsters. When ye learn Heavy Blow at Rank 5, use it in place of Grudgin Blow while soloin, as it does more damage. Pick up a decent greataxe taincrease yer damage output. Just be sure ta keep yer axe an shield at th ready in case you see yer gonna need em. As ye finish out th quests aroundth Anvil, move ta th Battle of Bitterstone and start workin on th public quest and th other quests there. Ye should be round Rank 4 or 5 by thtime ye move on ta Chapter 2, Redhammers Brewery.

In Chapter 2, yell find yer first RvR fights, th Gates of Ekrund scenario and Grudgekegs Guard warcamp. Dont be afraid ta participate in em, asye will gain experience and Renown by doin so. Use th Renown ye earn ta buy armor upgrades from th Hoardmasters there. Run th public

quests ta get yer influence rewards and a chance at a decent upgrade from th quest chests.

At around Rank 6, ye be ready ta head off ta Chapter 3, Kron-Komar Gap. Around this time, yell learn Binding Grudge and Kneecapper.Start mixin these in with yer normal attacks ta keep yer enemies debuffed. Again, meet th Rally Master here and bind ta this camp. Startdoin quests and participatin in th PQs as usual. Yell also still have access ta th Gates of Ekrund and a new warcamp, RoarhammersStand.

Now that ye have th basics under yer beard, yell be learnin advanced abilities fer th rest of yer ranks. Yer basic abilities will stillbe th most important ones you have, but dont forget th newly trained ones either. They all be havin a place and a purpose.

Continue ta work through all th chapters, doin all th quests and participatin in th RvR and scenarios when ye see em available.Remember ta always bind yerself ta th nearest Rally Master so ye can return ta camp quickly, and talk ta everyone ta findhidden lore and secrets. Try ta join parties where ye can and be friendlyit will take ye a long way into th WAR. Before yeknow it, yell be fightin off th greenies at Karak Eight Peaks. An who knows? I might just be there beside ye.

    RENOWN(PVP)

SoloTh Ironbreaker be not th best at soloin in PvP. It will happen fromtime ta time, and ye best be prepared fer when it does, but yellfare best in group PvP. Whether it be a skirmish, a battlefield, ascenario, or a campaign, yer strategy should be about th same.

Ranks 110Work on keepin em close ta ye. Most Destruction cowardsare gonna run away when ye get a hold on em, so start off witha Binding Grudge ta slow em down. Keep yer Grudging Blowbuff up and Vengeful Strike if you can. Use Knock Ye Sillyta get a damage increase, and then use Heavy Blow ta deal yerdamage.

Ranks 1120Yell learn Away With Ye, which works well ta incapacitate anenemy. Just be careful with it, cause its gonna knock em a gooddistance away. Use Stubborn as Stone against casters ta reduce th damagethey do ta ye, and Juggernaut ta get free if ye be gettinrooted down.

Ranks 2140Use th same abilities and mix in th new ones yevelearned as available. Watch An Learn be a good self buff tause ta increase yer damage. Keep Binding Grudge on yertarget whenever possible, and use th new abilities tahelp immobilize im. Ye can use Grip of Stone taroot yer target in place and Punishing Blow tado more damage if they try ta run. Yell alsolearn Stonebreaker, which be well used onother heavy armor wearers ta increaseth damage yer doin ta em. Jus keepwhatever ye be killin close enough thatye can hit it.

Group PlayWhile th Ironbreaker aint th best at solo PvP, ye canbe very effective in a PvP group. Th ideal version of agood group be consistin of at least one healin personand several damage-dealin allies. Ranged damagersllbe doin more cause th Destruction forcesll be toobusy bein scared o th Dwarf standin in their faceta notice where th arrows and spells be comin from.Because th Ironbreaker does better in groups, itsbest ta be joinin a group as soon as possible, whetherit be a skirmish, battlefield, scenario, or campaign. At lowerranks, keep yer enemies slowed with Binding Grudges and use

Grudging Blow often. As ye gain ranks, ye can Taunt em sothey do less damage ta your group, and ye have more defensiveabilities ta survive their attacks. Always put Oath Friend onyer healer, as hes gonna be their first target if they have anysense. Be ready ta Guard im, or use Away With Ye ta knock aDestruction player away from im.

RUNE PRIESTAye, there be power in th land. O, Im not speakin of that magical froufrou power ye often hear thosepointy-eared Elf-clowns speakin aboutbut real power! When ye can see that power, ye can lay a rune

upon th very earth from which it comes an bring it forth ta focus, make it do things fer ye. It be thisvery power thatll see us victorious over them damn bloody greenies. They have no sense o beauty, nor dothey care fer th land. They be just a bunch o punters, an they scar th land wherever they walk, makin itunfit fer minin or livin. Ye see, once th darkness has settled in th land, it stinks ferever.

Once yer able ta focus that earth power, then ye can make a difference on th field of battle! Ye can cause yerenemies ta rue th day they was born, or heal a fallen drinkin matewhich I find ta be a most useful skill. I hate ta drink alone, ye know.

Lets see if ye have any ability here. First, concentrate upon that rock right there. Good! Ye feel th strength of th rock? Ye feel it flow throughye? Excellent! Now, see th structure of th power? Draw th structure of that power. Then creates yer rune, just like I showed ye. Now focus, anbring th power into your rune an bind it therejust like that!

Now th tricky part. Make sure that ye be concentratin on th wounds that be in front o ye an see th flesh as if it were whole an not rent in twain.Slowly release th power from out yer rune an into th flesh.

Well done! Very well done, indeed! Now, there be manymore wounds ta care fer, an practice ye must before I can
