What is wireless warehouse management

and what can it do for me?

InfoProWMS was written from the ground up as a wireless

application. Many warehouse management systems use

traditional networking logic and an emulation to display the

application on a wireless terminal. Many times this is

unreliable, inefficient and difficult to use.

Wireless warehouse management is a real time data collection

and inventory control system designed to capture production or

receiving information, direct the distribution of inventory, and

control allocation and shipping.

Warehouse management is broken into components:

1. The warehouse is designed in the system by warehouse

types (internal, external, public, etc).

2. It is sorted further by areas and/or zones and even further

by location types (Inventory, non-inventory, QC hold, etc).

3. Locations may also be classified as home locations,

product specific locations, etc.

True FIFO and date lot coding

InfoProWMS uses true date lot coding, expiration date tracking,

and FIFO logic. InfoProWMS also allows for all hold,

inspection, and quality control functions and reporting.

As an object oriented system InfoProWMS does not track

inventory by record creation date, but rather by parent/child

object tracking.

The other key difference between InfoProWMS and most other

WMS packages is the fact that it was designed as a stand alone

package first, with a VERY powerful interface for Visual added

later. This logic allows InfoProWMS to communicate data real

time with Visual accounting.time with Visual accounting..nnucaasVhwem

Highlights of InfoProWMS for Visual Accounting:

Uses COM objects - The software's powerful data verification ensures that valid data is updated to Visual® directly.

Built in label design and report software allows custom designs with all barcode formats, date and lot code, serialized numbering, even graphics.

Custom date code formats with built in "translation" for a different custom code for each customer.

Design your own internal date code format.

All shipping, receiving and labels may be designed to display a custom format which is customer dependent, automatically. No need to "convert" or calculate codes for multiple customers needs.

Uses true FIFO date tracking, not a reference field

Unlike Visual, InfoproWMS uses a date and time stamp for every pallet or box in inventory. This assures you that true FIFO is always used.

Custom login access

Both PC and wireless screens may be tailored to allow customized access for each individual user.

Supports multiple warehouses and product categories

Allows for non-inventory items to be stored and tracked in WMS while having no impact at all on Visual. Perfect for equipment, furniture, dies, etc.

Supports public warehousing costing and calculations.

Warehouse management

True WMS uses a logical layout of the warehouse(s).

Supports work by order or by zone

Users may pick an entire order or use a task list to pick

inventory by zone for highly efficient travel.

Purchasing receipts

Uses purchasing information entered into Visual to verify the order status.

Order changes made in Visual are updated directly to InfoProWMS.

Print receiving documents or build receiving task lists directly in WMS.

If forms are used scan the order number, then the item to be received. Operator enters the total number of pallets and quantity per pallet. Quantities are clearly displayed and verified. Short receipts are prompted for back order - Yes/No. Overages require verification (and optionally a supervisor password).

InfoProWMS prints a barcoded label for every pallet or box.

Upon completion the receipt may be staged or directly put away. Put aways are either directed or assisted.

- A directed put away requires the operator to put the product in a specific location chosen by the InfoProWMS software.

- An assisted put away suggests the best location with the option to over ride.

All transactions may be configured to require a scan of a location to verify or allow for manual entry.

Upon completion of the receipt a transaction is created in Visual using COM objects.

Production pulls/issues to work order

Uses work order entered into Visual to verify the work order status.

Order changes made in Visual are updated directly to InfoProWMS.

Uses work order documents printed from Visual.

If forms are used scan the work order number, then the item to be pulled. The oldest product in inventory will be displayed first with the option to override (and optionally a supervisor password).

Upon completion of the issue a Visual issue to work order transaction is created using COM objects.

Production reporting

Uses work order entered into Visual to verify the work order status.

Order changes made in Visual are updated directly to InfoProWMS.

Uses work order documents printed from Visual.

Similar to purchasing receipts, the operator is prompted by work order number, then item number. Operator enters the total number of pallets and quantity per pallet. Quantities are clearly displayed and verified. Short receipts are prompted for order complete - Yes/No.

Customer order picking

Uses customer order entered into Visual to verify the customer and order status.

Order changes made in Visual are updated directly to InfoProWMS.

Print barcoded pick tickets or build task lists from InfoProWMS.

Operator is prompted for Customer order number, then item number. The oldest product in inventory will be displayed first with the option to override (and optionally a supervisor password). Quantities are clearly displayed and verified. Short picks are prompted for order back order- Yes/No. Overages require verification (and optionally a supervisor password).

Upon completion of the order pick a transaction is created in Visual

using COM objects.

Quality Control

Use InfoProWMS to drive your QC department. PC based or

wireless based QC transactions in WMS create Visual QC

transactions using COM objects.

Inventory transfers/inter branch transfers

Any inventory transactions performed in Visual (ie transfers,

adjustments, etc) may be performed in WMS using wireless

terminals with COM objects creating the corresponding transaction

in Visual.

Physical inventory/cycle counting

Perform physical inventory by blind count (only locations are

displayed, operator must verify product in location and quantity) or

by verification (system displays product in system inventory,

operator must verify quantity).

Cycle counts may be by location or by product (optionally sub sorted

by highest usage).

Special reporting

 Obsolescence report

- Displays product in inventory which is due to become obsolete

with dollar values taken from Visual. Reports may be selected

by product, by date range, by product category, etc.

 Transaction reports

- Display all transactions performed in InfoProWMS by user, by

date, by type by product or by serial number (to create a history)

or any combination.

- By using time stamping it is possible to evaluate how long certain

transactions take on average, as well as reporting efficiency by user.
