Problem Recap• A quarter of women only wear 10 % of

the clothes in their wardrobes

• It showed that 91 % have an item in their cupboard that still has the tags on

• 79 % per cent have bought something in the past that they knew they would never wear.

• The poll, commissioned by Mycelebrityfashion.co.uk, interviewed 1,623 women aged 18-30.

Concept solution

• Assist constant shoppers the necessary of clothing and stop producing/purchasing waste in a creative and innovative way.

• Wardrobe that tells the owner how each clothing is really feeling.

• For users to reflect and moderate the amount of clothes they already have.

Concept Solution

• Giving a life to the clothes with Mobile tweets of what is worn. “Item one Having fun day out with owner”, even “neglect for too long”, “needs a new home” or “wants to be adopted by smiths family”.

• In hope to help these users to slow down in producing/purchasing waste, stop and reflect on the necessary of clothes.

What will it look like?

Clothes Hanger:• LED Lights integrated into hanger. (This will be like the breadboard.)• Pressure sensitive sensors running along the side of the hanger.• OR Button Switch on hangar to state clothes is on it.Wardrobe Hanging pole:• Recesses slots that will trigger event once hung with clothes hanger.

Cables will run inside the rod.• (The cables to pass the data LED to show for each hanger.)Controller box:• Arduino USB Board• Ethernet Shield With PoE• Real Time Clock Module

Last Week’s Problems

• Working out what happens if the user takes out a few hangers at the same time to decide to wear one of them. However later on puts it back.

Now there are two solutions:• User press a simple button when they place

onto the hangar.• or pressure sensors on the side of hangar.

The Solution 1

Mini Push Button SwitchBasic button to set: clothes are on the hangar.

Make user physically activate hangar.

Problems: Requires a “push force” for switch. Requires user to remember to press the button upon putting clothes on hangar.

The Solution 2

Force Sensitive Resistor – LongCan sense applied force anywhere in the range of 100g-10kg

Once clothes are hung it automatically senses the force and knows clothing are hung on hangar.

Can be sensed all along the side.

Problems: Expensive per unit. $22. What happens if user throws clothes with hangers on the bed, pressure of clothing is lifted and gone.

Work on the grabbing attention of the user!Adding - Flashing lights.

The Solution

Not to make it a annoyance to user everything is visually screaming .

I have restricted the speed and how dim the Led lights are depending on the 3 different stages.

Current issues

Deciding between user friendliness vs. simplified functional solution hangar.

To create a more welcoming experience for user I believe Force Sensitive Resistor . (This is because people are lazy and forgetful)
