War in Haifa is a photo series created by photojournalist Lenny M from Haifa. The series documents the effects of the Second Lebanon war in Haifa, located in northern Israel. The war began on 12 July 2006 when Hezbollah instigated missile attacks on Israeli towns, crossed the border killing Israeli soldiers and taking the bodies back across the border to Lebanon. For 34 days Hezbollah bombarded Israeli towns with missiles filled with metal "death balls," pre-meditated shrapnel designed to rip holes in anything in its path: metal, wood and flesh. In this war it wasn't soldiers who were attacked; it was men, women in children – in their homes. For the first time Haifa, a city in the heart of undisputed Israel, became the frontline of war.
