• Western Europe preps for war by massing troops along Maginot Line

• Nothing happens until spring 1940

• April 1940, Nazis attack Denmark, Norway, Holland, Belgium, and Luxembourg. All fall by end of May

• June 1940, Nazis invade France. Allied forces are cut in half.

• Southern half are killed or captured, Northern half(about 350,000 troops) are evacuated from Dunkirk
