Tardy Policy – Classes for all grades begin promptly at 8:40AM. Students NOT in their seat by this time are considered tardy. Students not in their classroom by 9:00AM are considered absent.
After School Policy – All children dismissed are to be picked up, board school buses or exit the school and school grounds by 3:20PM ( 2:20PM on Wednesdays) unless part of a supervised after-school activity.
Absence Policy - Parents are required to call the school office at 503-655-3636 whenever their student is going to be late or absent from school. Parents who do not call in absences by 9:00AM are contacted by school personnel to ensure the safety of their child(ren).

Dress and grooming shall be of a nature that sets a positive, school-wide tone of respect, courtesy and personal pride. We expect students to wear clothing and accessories that are clean, reflect reasonable standards of modesty and are appropriate for school. Suggestive language or pictures, outright profanity, obscene pictures or messages advocating sexual, “gang”, or drug-related (including alcohol and tobacco) activities will not be tolerated.

High heeled, strapless shoes and flip-flops present a safety hazard and are strongly discouraged. Sunglasses are not to be worn in the building.

SSkkiirrttss aanndd ddrreesssseess sshhoouulldd bbee aatt lleeaasstt mmiidd--tthhiigghh iinn lleennggtthh.Shorts should have a minimum inseam length of 3-inches. Students must have, at a minimum, a two finger width strap over each shoulder and not be sagging below the armpit. Students are not permitted to wear hats, hoods, chains, hanging belts, or bandanas while at school.
The School will reflect the expectations of the Gladstone community for its students. It is the school’s responsibility to help students make appropriate decisions regarding dress and grooming. Students violating this policy will be counseled about proper dress and grooming and will be provided alternative
clothing.
Students participating in voluntary extracurricular activities shall conform to the regulations governing the various activities. Students who represent the school in a voluntary activity may be required to meetadditional dress and grooming standards approved by the principal and may be denied the opportunity
to participate if those standards are not met. (GSB policy JFCA)
