Dear Bulldog Families, Our students are off to a great start in the 4th quarter! Ms. McAllister and I get to

hear about all of the wonderful things students are doing when we read PAWSitive

referrals on the morning announcements. What a great way to start the

day!

With the start of the 4th quarter we are also “rolling” out a new school-wide

incentive the students can earn by having 7 days without office referrals.

They’ve already earned 4 days! When you talk to your child, please be sure to ask if

he or she followed PAWS. PAWS stands for: Promptly prepared, Act respectfully, Work

hard, and Stay safe.

Happy Spring Walter Douglas Families!

The end of the year is approaching so keep an eye out for information about our fun end of the year fes-

tivities and DIBELS testing! Your child will be DIBELS tested on their reading skills during the first

week of May. It is very important that you keep practicing fluency passages, reading books, and having

your child retell the story after they have read it. These skills will help your child to become a successful

reader.

We have one field trip coming up in April. It will be on Friday, April 7th to see Peter and the Wolf performed by

the Tucson Regional Ballet. The cost of the field trip is $3.00. This is a great opportunity for your child to experience a live,

professional

performance.

Also, thank you for all of the classroom donations! If you would like to donate any snacks or tissues your child’s teacher

would greatly appreciate it!

Ms. Weigold Mr. Brown Ms. Myrick Mrs. Provencio

Hello Parents!

The third grade team would first like to thank all of the parents who came to meet with us during Par-

ent Teacher Conferences. We know working together, both parents and teachers, is a vital component

to the success of our students, and we appreciate you taking the time to sit down with us to discuss

your child’s progress. Thank you also for all of your support getting students ready both mentally

and physically for AzMerit. Your support made all the difference in keeping our students focused and motivated to complete

their test.

We look forward to finishing up the school year strong during fourth quarter. Continue to have your child read at

home at least 20 minutes each night and practice their math facts! Thank you for all you do!

Mr. Martin Ms. Powers Mrs. Balder

Holy wow parents-- it's April. My oldest son turns 12 this year! Criminy... Where does the

time go? (Hint-- it goes to fundraising!) In March, we held our 2nd Annual Bulldog Fun Run! We had a record number of volunteers (18!) and I hope to see you all at our PTO meeting Thursday, April 6th at 2:30 in room 29. Find out how your hard volunteer work benefits your students, staff, and community! I know how well it went because I do the

budget, but I want you to know too! Also, by the time you read this, our new marquee should be up! New signs were our goal for the year, and with YOUR HELP we made our campus a more vibrant place. More changes are on the way, I promise. You DEFINITELY want to be part of all of this. We only have one last event scheduled for the year, and that's the district wide Festival Under the Stars. This year it's being held on Friday 4/21, at Flowing Wells High School from 5-9. I haven't been this excited for an event since our first Bulldog Fun Run last year! We are doing something so new and fun and different that I think we're going to be the talk of the festival! I hope you can attend. It's a great event for everyone, parents and kids. I'll see you there!
