Case Study | Walt Disney World Resort

Open since 1971, Walt Disney World Resort is the most visited vacation

resort in the world with an attendance of more than 52 million people

annually. The property covers 27,258 acres, housing four theme parks, two 

water parks, several golf courses, a camping resort and other entertainment

venues. RSS Roofing Services & Solutions’ Central Florida division was

tasked with re-roofing three high-profile buildings in the Orlando-based

entertainment complex.

RSS crews re-roofed the 10,000 sq. ft. Canada Pavilion in Epcot. This

re-roofing job consisted of updating the existing roof with a multi-faceted

roof system by installing the highest quality simulated wood shake shingles,

a modified flat roof system and an elastomeric coating system to comprise an advanced

waterproofing system.

Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland Terrace 25,000 sq. ft. new roof was installed with a high-

quality roof membrane and a liquid applied roof system designed specifically to endure the

harsh Florida weather conditions all year round. The biggest challenge we overcame was

logistical, as the building is located in the middle of the park, and the customer required no

disruption to guests.

The RSS team had to work overnight shifts due to the park’s schedule and high-traffic areas

to complete these two high-profile roofing jobs.

RSS refreshed the Health Services

building, also located inside Epcot,

with multiple coats of an

Acrylic/Urethane Resin coating on

the 15,000 sq. ft. roof, 350 lin. ft.

of gutters and 180 lin. ft.

of downspouts.

All three of these projects carried a

strict timeline as RSS crews had to

work around park hours in order to

get the projects completed on time.
