WALLACIA PUBLIC SCHOOL ‘Today is for Tomorrow’ Newsletter Week 10 Term 4 2016 Monday 12 December Principal’s Message This will be the final newsletter for the 2016 school year. I would like to wish all of our families a merry Christmas and safe and enjoyable Summer holiday. School will resume for students in Years 1-6 on Monday 30 January and for Kinder students on Thursday 2 February. This will also be my last newsletter as Principal at Wallacia Public School. It has been both an honour and a pleasure to have led the school and I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to have worked with, and taught your children. It has also been an honour and a privilege to have worked with such a great group of educators and administrators. The staff at Wallacia Public School work tirelessly to provide an outstanding education for your children and I am richer for having had the opportunity to have worked with them. I wish Mr Trevelian Mason all the best as he now takes the reins and leads the school into the future. Regards, Mark Davies 2016 Presentation Day Last Friday 9 December, our school’s annual Presentation Day was held at the Hubertus Club in Luddenham. Thank you to the Hubertus Club for its ongoing support of our school. Special guests included Mrs Ellena Jee-McLennan, Mrs Elaine Bonning, Mrs Sue Corcoran (Wallacia-Mulgoa Rotary Club), and Mrs Tanya Davies MP. Mrs Davies presented the Mulgoa Encouragement Award to Brayden Warner, and also presented Jamie Brabin (K/1) with his award for having won Mrs Davies’ Mulgoa Electorate Colouring Competition. Congratulations to all award recipients on the day. Kindergarten and Year 1 for 2016 were awarded a certificate. Academic award recipients for Years 2 through 6 were as follows:

NEWS FROM 2/3C Term Four has been very busy. Students have worked hard across all Key Learning Areas both inside and outside the classroom. We have enjoyed eating fruit and vegetables from the class garden. Students in the dance group had the opportunity to attend the Schools Spectacular Performance at Qudos Bank Arena. Students have recently presented fantastic models and dioramas to the class to conclude the History unit Community and Remembrance. We enjoyed preparing our items for the Christmas Concert, which was a wonderful evening of performances. As the school year comes to an end I’d like to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to teach 2/3 C and to become a part of the Wallacia school community. Thank you to everyone who has assisted and given up their time throughout the year, it is much appreciated. A special thank you to Mrs Sue Bryan for all of her help and support in the classroom. I’d like to wish the students, their families and school community a safe and Merry Christmas. I look forward to another busy year full of opportunities in 2017. Miss Talia Carroll 2/3 C Teacher P & C NEWS

Thank you to everyone who supported our Sausage Sizzle at the Christmas Concert; we managed to raise $400. A big thank you for all the donations we received from all the families supporting our Christmas Raffle and congratulations to all the lucky winners. We had some great prizes that were donated from iFly Penrith, St Mary’s Leagues Club, Taronga Zoo, Discount Hair Care Penrith, Admire Beauty, Joliv, Pietro’s Pizza & Pasta and AMF Penrith. I would like to thank all our families and community for supporting the P&C this year. We have raised approximately $6000 from events such as our Outdoor Movie Night, BBQ’s, Cake Stalls, Raffles, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Stalls. We have been able to assist with transport to Warragamba Public School for our Christmas rehearsal, we have supported our state sporting representatives, we will be providing a professional photographer for the Year 6 Farewell and each year 6 leaving student will receive a CD from the night. We have been furiously saving this year and hope to purchase more computers for a Computer Lab in the library next year. I would especially like to thank the P&C Committee for all your help and support this year; I couldn’t do it without you all!
