Offa’s Dyke:Made the first boarder between Wales and

England in the 8th century

Beaumis Castle:Was built by the Welsh to help protect the welsh from the English

invaders in 1295. Used as a base for the failed Welsh uprising against the English.

Caernarfon Castle:Built by the English to show supreme authority over Wales in

1283.

Welsh Geography

Mt. SnowdonHeight is 3,560 ft. Highest point in Wales.

This picture shows the variations in the Welsh coast. It is mainly beaches or cliffs along the coast. This is a view of Tor Bay and Three Cliffs Bay.

This is the Brecon Beacons. They are a mountain range in south Wales. Contains some of the unique land formations in the British Isles

This is Lake Vrynwy. It is located in Northern Wales. It has a great view of the forests of Wales.

Pistyll Rhaeadr. Large waterfall

St. Giles’ Church. Built in the 16th Century. Can be seen for miles.

Overon yew trees are 21 trees, all 1,500 to 2,000 years old.

St. Winefride’s Well is said to have healing waters.

Llangollen Bridge is the first stone bridge to span over the River Dee.

Gresford bells are in the St. Gile’s Church. Are renown for their purity and tone.

Mt. Snowdon is the largest mountian in Wales and sits at 3,560ft tall.

Food

Tatws Pum Munud is a traditional Welsh stew that consists typically of potatoes, onions, carrots, and peas with either smoked bacon or beef.

Laverbread is a traditional Welsh breakfast. It is fried seaweed fried into a patty. It is loved by most Welsh people.

Wales is also famous around Britain for their whiskies, beer, and wine.

Popular Welsh festivitiesGeocaching – it is when people hide containers of a reasonable size, mark the coordinates on a gps and then post it on geocaching.com. Once posted anyone who has a gps can go and look for the container. The containers are mostly filled with small non expensive items, but can sometimes be filled with items such as dvds.
