Waguespack Campaign Hit with Multiple Disclosure ViolationsNearly a Dozen Complaints Just Latest in a History of Noncompliance

CHICAGO Alderman Scott Waguespacks political campaign committee is the subject of

nearly a dozen new complaints with the Illinois State Board of Elections. The complaints stemfrom violations ranging from failing to file disclosure reports on time to completely failing to file

any required quarterly disclosure reports for the last three reporting periods dating back to April,2011. The reports are designed to provide the public with the ability to see contributions and

    expenditures by political campaigns.

The complaints are just the latest in an ongoing pattern of legal troubles involving AldermanWaguespack and the State Board of Elections. Official records show that Waguespacks

campaign has been fined at least 15 times over the last 4 years for failing to comply with stateelection laws. The fines originally levied against the campaign total nearly $15,000.00.

It is the height of hypocrisy that somebody who holds himself out as a reformer and a proponent

of transparency in politics is actually the poster boy for campaign disclosure violations, saidCook County Commissioner and 32

ndWard Democratic Committeeman John Fritchey. Almost

from the day he was first elected as Alderman, he has been the regular subject of fines for failing

to disclose the sources of his campaign cash and how he has been spending that money.

What adds insult to injury is that while Scott Waguespack took the time to file papers to run for

Democratic Committeeman and even amended his paperwork with the State Board of Electionsfor a 2015 Aldermanic campaign, he completely ignores the requirements in place to protect the

public interest when it comes to the role of money in politics, said Fritchey.

The latest complaints stem from Alderman Waguespacks campaign failing to file quarterlyreports for the last three quarters of 2011 as well as 10 instances of his failing to make the

required filing of contributions in excess of $1000. Source Illinois State Board of Elections

Scott Waguespack is a guy who campaigned on changing business as usual but has zero regardfor the laws the Legislature passed to help clean up Illinois politics, added Commissioner

Fritchey, who was one of the legislators who passed the state law at issue while he was a StateRepresentative. Actions speak louder than words. This is just the latest instance of Scott

Waguespack saying one thing and doing something completely different.
