Domestic Consumer Confidence
After declining significantly following the release of the 2014-15 Commonwealth Budget, Consumer Confidence in Australia rose 6% in
the four weeks to week ending June 22. The next few months will determine the impact of the rapid decline in Consumer Confidence
throughout May on consumer spending.

Both interstate PAX and intrastate PAX declined in May 2014 compared to May 2013 (-2.4% and -6.0% respectively).
Year to date (YTD) PAX numbers for both the intrastate and interstate markets are in line with the same period in 2013.

While domestic passenger numbers are consistent with 2013, foreign national movements through Perth continue to grow.
International arrivals and international PAX grew from May 2013 to May 2014 (+6.5% and +7.2% respectively).
Both arrivals and PAX show significant growth for the YTD (+9.0% and +10.2% respectively).

Arrivals from each of the key long haul Asian markets (China, Japan, and Korea) show positive YTD growth.
May and June typically see less Japanese arrivals compared to other months of the year, and the pattern has continued in
2014. In May, there were a similar number of South Korean and Japanese arrivals into Perth Airport.

UK arrivals decreased significantly (-11.2%) from May 2013 to May 2014, however, this market continues to show positive
YTD growth (+1.9%) due to a strong performance in January, February, and April.
Arrivals from Germany and USA both show positive YTD growth, as well as growth for the month of May 2014 (in
comparison to May 2013).

Foreign National Arrivals - Short Haul
Arrivals from each of the key short haul markets (New Zealand, Malaysia, and Singapore) increased from May 2013 to May
2014, with increases of (+) 3.4%, (+) 13.9%, and (+) 47.7% respectively.
The large increase in arrivals from Singapore can be linked to the introduction of direct flights between Singapore and Perth
operated by low-cost carrier Scoot (4 flights per week in May 2014), as well as an increase in flights per week operated by
Singapore Airlines (from 24 in May 2013 to 28 in May 2014).

Total PAX for the China and South Korea markets increased significantly from May 2013 to May 2014 (+10.9% and +24.8%
respectively), while Japan PAX remained relatively stable (-0.5%).
Each of the key long haul Asia markets show strong growth in YTD May 2014 compared to YTD May 2013.

Total foreign national PAX for the short haul markets of Singapore and Malaysia grew significantly in May 2014 compared to
the same month in 2013, with growth of (+) 43.6%, and (+) 13.6% respectively.
New Zealand PAX also grew from May 2013 to May 2014 (+4.3%). However, growth in PAX for this market was not as
strong as it has been in the months leading up to May, somewhat influenced by the cessation of direct flights between Perth
and Christchurch (which ran between December 2013 and April 2014).

The ADR and RevPAR of Perth CBD hotels continues to trend downwards. In May 2014 compared to May 2013, ADR
decreased by (-) 6.9% to $214.7, and RevPAR decreased by (-) 8.1% to $198.9.
