A newly shaped E lever is adopted as astandard, along which the entire mechanismtotally re-designed as well.

■ Optional low E/F correction key Yamaha original intonation correction

mechanism inspired by the Oehler system(German style) clarinet is available to controlow E and F note. This system assures naturfinger control, excellent feel and playability

The V SeriesOur Finest Clarinets Yamaha’s V Series Custom clarinets represent

Precisely balanced and light to the touch, they

permit you to effortlessly create the tonal colors

you desire—to forget about the technical aspectsof your performance and concentrate on pure

musicality. And their highly expressive, resonant

hall. They are available in two styles, offering

finely calibrated differences (bore size,

undercuts, etc.) to meet your individual needs.

The SEV features wider

tonehole width, tapers and

undercuts for a warm,

round tone with an

abundance of rich overtones.

It blends easily with other

instruments, yet is equally

suitable for solos, with a

remarkably resonant tonethat’s full of life.

A unique scallopedresonance chamberinside the bell improvesprojection and intonationin the lower register.

Craftsman makes final inspection of a Yamahaclarinet. All Yamaha clarinets are made by giftedartisans whose fine touch has been developed overlong years of apprenticeship to a master.

The CSV has slightly smaller

tonehole sizes, tapers and

undercuts than the SEV,

ProfessionalModel 650

The 650 is an excellent alternative for

those who are serious about their clarinet

performance but need to watch their

budget. The specifications of its bell,

barrel, toneholes and other features are

very close to those of the Custom SEV

model, so its sound is warm, round, and

deeply resonant. Made of carefully select

and seasoned Grenadilla wood and

boasting an enormous amount of

handcrafting and hand finishing, the 650

features tapered toneholes which are

undercut by hand for precise intonation

and superior tonal balance. It also features

beautifully sculpted keys whose touch has

been regulated by master artisans for

perfect balance.

The YCL-650, 450, 450Nand 255 models areavailable with an E lever.

YCL-450/255 When designing the YCL-450 Series, we

conceived it as an instrument that a player

just starting out, would want to continue

playing well into the future. These are all

Grenadilla instruments designed with the

know-how gained through years of

experience crafting professional level

instruments.

The YCL-450M additionally features our

“Duet+” treatment applied to the instrument

bore making the instrument more durable

and less susceptible to the effects of humidi

and temperature.

The YCL-255 combines state-of-the-art

production expertise with high-end Yamaha

clarinet features. The result is an outstandin

entry-level instrument that delivers a warm,

resonant tone that is remarkably similar to

that of a wood clarinet. It features an ABS

resin body with a matte finish that imitates

that of a wood clarinet and an adjustable

thumb-rest with a neck strap ring that allow

for even those with small hands to easily

hold the instrument.

The YCL-681II has anattractive warm sound andis ideal for doubling playerswho need a top quality professional instrument atan affordable price.

Yamaha Professional Model bass clarinets, all of

which are meticulously crafted by hand, give you a rich,

warm sound with powerful projection and extremely

accurate intonation. Each tonehole undercut is

individually shaped for a beautifully balanced,

remarkably responsive instrument. The YCL-621II can

play down to low E

, while the YCL-622II’s rangeextends to low C.

And for the first time Yamaha is offering a matte

finish ABS resin bass clarinet with a tone quality very

close to that of a professional wood model. It’s the

YCL-221II, whose design is based on that of our

pro model YCL-621II. This instrument boasts several

important new features, including a neck angle similar

to that of a soprano clarinet, and a unique joint

connector which makes it easy to assemble the main
