It is the principal city of the Hanford-Corcoran metropolitan area (MSA Code 25260), which encompasses all of Kings County, including the cities of Hanford and Corcoran. was purchased by a historic preservationist in 1979, who re-opened the theater for movies in 1982. The theater still features live performances, as well as the

occasional silent film and movie.
