    Just the FACTS (SES)SES has 5 very active after school clubs for students: Book Club, Stamp Club, Minecraft,Robotics, and Unicycle.Christy Neigel, Sultan Elementary School paraeducator enrolled last November in analternative route program towards teacher certi�cation. Great job Christy!Darline Frazier, Sultan Elementary kindergarten teacher, lost the battle this summer withfurniture in a truck. She is set to have surgery to repair her knee over the holidays.Wishing you the best Darline!SES playground supervisors are alert and protective of their students. A parent whoparked on the back street to watch the students on the playground was approached by JDAxtman to make sure she was a "good guy". The parent was very appreciative of theattentiveness to safety.SES parents are also appreciative of Mr. Van Orden's presence each morning. This givesparents con�dence that safety is a top priority.Brandon Neville, Special Education teacher at SES is training to be a �re �ghter. He wentto a house �re in late November and entered the home to make sure everyone had beenevacuated. Be careful out there!David Pallo, Music Teacher at SES, is the Music Director/Conductor for the MonroeCommunity Band. Check out https://www.monroecommunityband.org/ for upcomingperformances. David also plays throughout Snohomish County with a brass quintet,Tarnished Brass. In October David plays in the polka group, Bavarian Dance Band. Duringthe slower summer months, you will �nd David playing in a jazz ensemble, Monroe TinyJazz Orchestra. He ends the season at the Evergreen State Fair. All of these groups arenonpro�ts associated with the Monroe Arts Council. Rock on David!

    Around Our CampusesLisa Barnhill, Sultan High School teacher, completes her coursework in special educationin December, 2019 and will receive her Residency Teacher certi�cation this spring. Lisa isone of our �ve conditionally certi�cated teachers who work very hard to complete

Congrats on this great accomplishment Lisa!Jared Skeith, Special Education teacher at Sultan Middle School, has been employed as aparaeducator, coach and substitute teacher in the district for many years. He enrolled inSPU's alternative routes to teaching program to obtain teacher certi�cation and joined usin December.Congrats to all our Paraeducators who completed 7 clock hours of the 28 total clockhours required for the "Fundamental Course of Study" on November 24, 2019. The secondclass will be held on March 19, 2020 followed by 14 hours of training scheduled for the2020-2021 school year. Great job Paras!Quinn Lambert, intern at Sultan Middle School with teacher Kimbra Smith, will become asubstitute for the district this spring. Thank you Quinn for your work with our students andto Kimbra for providing her excellent mentorship.Tami Gee, SHS counselor, will be out for a medical procedure over the holidays. Wishingyou the best Tami.Tegan Yarbrough, bus driver, welcomed baby Mabel to her family on August 25. Tegan istaking some time away from work to be with her family but remains a substitute busdriver with the district.Melissa Gerry, paraeducator at Sultan Middle School, went out on medical leave in lateNovember. She is expected to welcome a baby girl to her family around December 16.
