SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE ENTERPRISE WITH WALL-LINQ TAPE DRYWALL SYSTEM

Wall-linQ Tape Drywall System® is a new and revolutionary wall system. While eighty percent

of traditional plasterboard walls are double-sided and must be screwed to uprights, this is

not necessary with the Wall-linQ Tape Drywall System®. The system consists of special metal

uprights provided with tape to which the single-layer gypsum board panels are attached. An

innovative method offering many advantages whilst amply meeting all European and local

requirements in terms of sound insulation, fi re resistance, durability and health and safety

legislation.

HOW DOES THE WALL-LINQ TAPE DRYWALL SYSTEM® WORK?

The Wall-linQ Tape Drywall System® consists of 1 x 15 mm gypsum (fi bre) board panel with

four bevelled sides. Technicians attach the plasterboard to metal uprights provided with

tape. In order to meet the safety requirements the boards are attached with a minimum

number of screws (nine units per m2). The screws are incorporated into the bevelled edges.

This method of assembly means that no components are under stress. That is to say that

the frame is perfectly upright and a smooth fl at wall is created, which is suitable for a thin,

high-quality, low-maintenance, top layer.

The metal top and bottom housings of the Drywall System® also have a wide strip of strong

tape. While the tape is suffi cient to attach the upper and lower housings to the ceiling and

the fl oor, both housings are additionally secured with dowels, two or three dowels every

three metres.

SHORTER LEAD TIMES AS A RESULT OF MORE EFFICIENT PRODUCTION

Due to the single-layer system, there is a larger cavity. This provides additional space for

installations that are easier to integrate into the walls. In addition, the single-layered system

means the walls can be insulated and keyed in advance, making it easier to fi nish off the

wall. The Wall-linQ concepts make it possible for projects to be implemented generally with

one board type, one steel width and one kind of insulation material. Therefore, the failure

costs are nil, you achieve shorter lead times and more effi cient production.



MORE WORKING SPACE

The single-layer system also means that there is less plasterboard needed and therefore

fewer obstacles in a room. Technicians and other contractors therefore have a roomier

workplace. In addition the plasterboards can be provided in a suitable width. This increa-

ses effi ciency and reduces the amount of waste and cutting loss and reduces clutter in the

workplace.

BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS (HEALTH AND SAFETY LEGISLATION)

It is well known that inner wall fi nishing technicians who work in the traditional way, are

often exposed to stressful and tough ergonomic and physical loads. With the Wall-linQ Tape

Drywall System® the working conditions are much less stressful. The gypsum (fi bre) board

panels are mounted horizontally. This means that engineers work in pairs and lift the boards

together. The load on the human body is limited to 16 kg/pp. This is well below the MAL

value of 25 kg/pp, which is strictly controlled by the Safety Inspectorate. Furthermore, the

limited screwing work mean less shoulder, neck, and back pain. The Wall-linQ Tape Drywall

System® is not only more pleasant to work with for technicians, it also shows that you have

consideration for your employees.

THE WHISPER METHOD

The Wall-LinQ Tape Drywall System® is installed using the ‘Whisper Method’. Because instal-

lation takes place with virtually no screwing work, the noise load is minimal. Thanks to the

Whisper method neighbours, colleagues and patients in the upper and lower rooms of a

hospital can carry on working or recuperate from a medical procedure. Moreover, because of

its low noise characteristics the work does not have to take place outside the offi ce space.

Another important aspect of the Whisper method is that the gypsum (fi bre) board panels

always need to be installed by two people. This is an excellent opportunity for an

experienced technician to a train a new technician and transfer knowledge. This prevents

knowledge being lost and ensures that quality throughout the industry reaches a higher

level.

QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE

The quality, reliability and performance of the Wall-linQ Tape Drywall System® is guaranteed

because the system is installed by certifi ed technicians. Moreover, Wall-linQ provides

technical support for engineering and project implementation.

FIREPROOF

Gypsum is known as a high-quality fi reproof building material. The Wall-linQ Tape Drywall

System® meets European standards in this fi eld. The system has been tested and certifi ed in

accordance with European standards (EN 1350-2, EN1364-1). In the European regulations the

permissible height of the wall is derived from the measured deformations of the structure

during the fi re test.

The European regulations (EN 1350-2, EN1364-1) state that the fi re is divided into fi re class

EI for the entire complete wall system with the corresponding allowable wall height.

The European Regulation provides that the tested components of a wall system cannot by

defi nition be interchangeable with other components. As a system the Wall-linQ concepts are

tested and certifi ed to these European standards.

EXCELLENT SOUND INSULATION

Each screw is in principle a sound bridge. The Wall-linQ Tape Drywall System® has a

decoupling between uprights and board, which ensures that high airborne sound insulation

performance is achieved. It provides an Rw value of at least 52 dB. All our walls are tested

according to EN ISO 140-3 and EN ISO 717, the European guidelines for airborne sound

insulation.

TOP WHITE: WHITER THAN WHITE, EASY TO FINISH, NO PRIMER

Top WHITE is a special optional plasterboard within the Wall-linQ Tape Drywall System®

concepts. There is no plasterboard that is whiter and easier to work with. Top WHITE is a

white pre-primed board, so priming is no longer required. That means faster turnaround.

Top WHITE surfaces are not only an excellent base for painting, they are also an excellent

base for papering. Top WHITE boards do not yellow and have greater resistance to mildew.

The boards can be cleaned both wet and dry.


VISUAL COMFORT

For visual comfort the eye is central. Our eye has the ability to adjust to the brightness of

the visual fi eld. A fl at wall refl ects light or emits light and therefore appears to be fl at.

When there are large differences in brightness, then the eye has to make many adjustments.

This effort imparts an uneasy feeling, and thus has a strong infl uence on the mood of

people and recovery of patients. A high quality fl at wall, such as the Wall-linQ Tape Drywall

System® has a positive effect on the mood of people.

SUSTAINABLE BUILDING

Wall-LinQ Tape Drywall System® consists of single-layer plasterboard. This means that

far fewer boards need to be produced, transported and processed. That means less raw

material consumption, lower CO2 emissions and less waste. With Tape Drywall System® you

can achieve sustainable construction in accordance with section 5.9 of the Building Act and

limit the emission of greenhouse gases and the depletion of resources.

100% RECYCLABLE

Wall-linq works together with Gypsum Recycling Nederland. This company has a unique

recycling system with which they can process waste gypsum (fi bre) board panels into 100%

gypsum powder. From this powder new gypsum (fi bre) board panels are made. In addition

the Wall-LinQ Tape Drywall System® galvanized steel uprights and beams are 100%

recyclable. The question of ‘downcyling’ does not arise: the new steel retains its properties

and remains suitable for high performance applications. Also in the case of galvanized steel,

the zinc is fi rst separated from the steel, and then used in the making of new zinc.

The insulation material that we use can also be recycled.
