Bed, housing, end suPPort

The bed with three flat guide-ways, one side and one support-ing guideway, is purposefullystiffened with ribs inside. ltsdesign ensures a high rigiditYand an exact position of thetable loated with workpiece ofmaximum weight even in extre-me positions.The vertical guideways of thehousing are precision ground.The right-hand guideway isparticularly wide which ensuresprecision side guiding of theheadstock. The end suPPort islongitudinally adjustable by hand.The bearing of the support ser-ving for bushes and long boringbars may be vertically moved bY

an electric motor. The fine finalsetting of the boring bar suPPortis effected by means of a handwheel on the electric motorshaft.

The electric wiring on the slide-table assemblyis distributed by means of KONDUFLEX f lexiblesteel protection hoses. The protection of themachine as well as its cleaning possibilityare thus enhanced.

Slide and table

The important noveltY of thismachine design are the slidesurfaces covered with Plastic.The application of plastic resultsin substantional decrease offriction and in reduction of Po-wer consumPtion for the Powerfeeds. A high continuousitY evenof the finest feeds is another im-portant advantage of this design.The danger of anY seizure ispractical ly el imi nated.

The thickness of the dark plastic layer isabout 1.5 mm. ln the plastic the lubricationchannels are milled. The side assembled withthe respective machine group is suffused withthis plastic. The suffusion is done with pre-cision and the surfaces thus obtained do notrequire scraping any more.

Central lubrication

The machine assemblies sub-jected to extra high load - thelongitudinal and cross slideswith the rotary table bearing theworkpiece - are lubricated withpressure oil from the centrallubrication set. The headstockis lubricated in the same way.The possibility of adjusting andcontrolling the quantity of oil inboth lubrication branchesenables to carry out eff icientand oil-saving lubrication. Therunning of the lubrication set,i.e. the starting of the oil pumpmotor, is performeC by themachine operator by means ofa pushbutton on the headstock.

Other methods of lubrication

The lubrication of the bearings,gears and other mechanisms ofthe headstock is automatic,circulating. The oil is drawnfrom the bottom part of theheadstock by a piston pumpand distributed to the requiredlubrication points. The operationof the pump can be checkedthrough a sight glass, Oil levelis checked by an oil indicator.The distribution box is automa-tically lubricated by wicks. Thelevel of oil is checked by meansof the oil level gauge. All otherparts requiring lubrication areprovided with conveniently laidout grease nipples. Lubricationis carried out by means of an oilgun in accordance with the lubri-cation chart.

Precision positioning ofrotary table to 4 x 90'

The exact setting of the tableto positions of 4 x 90o can bechecked by an optical projec-tion-type readihg equipment.The tilting mirror, serving alsoas a cover of the fround glass,may be swivelled to any posi-tion. The motion of division lineto the sight marks can be easilyobserved by the operator fromthe post from where also thetable rotation is controlled bythe hand crank, i. e. in front ofthe longitudinal slide. The opti-cal projection-type readingequipment enables to set thetable to position of 4 x 90" withan accuracy of 8" (angularseconds). The four corners ofthe table are provided with ad-justable sight marks. When themachine is properly anchoredon the specified type of foun-dation, the maximum final ac-curacy of table positioning at4x90' can be obtained bymeans of measuring the tablepositions again, using the pre-cision bridge and the tippingarm. The sight marks bbing ad-justed, they can be secured soas to avoid unpromted loss oftheir positions. ln addition tothis, the table periphery is pro-vided with scales from 0 to 360'The above described optical pro-jection-type reading equipmentfor the table positioning of4x90o forms a part of the stan-dard accessories delivered witheach machine.

The optical projection-type reading equip-ment tor positioning ol the table to 4 x 9d islocated under the table edge on the bracketlasiened to the cross slide. The ground glasscan be observed easily lrom the operator'spost serving Jor the control of the table by thehand crank. The table may be locked in anyposition by means of the levers placed onthe slide.

On swivelling the table through 450, the opti-cal reading equipmept tor table positioning iseasily accessible. The cleaning as well as thereplacement ot the lighting lamp can becarried out with €ase. The equipment disposesof independent low voltage lighting.

Position Readout

The W 100 A horizontal boring machine is supplied with position measuring system of machine assembliesmoving in three axes:

X - cross direction (saddle and table)Y - vertical direction (spindle head)Z - longitudinal direction (saddte and tabte)

The machine is available in the following variants:

1. With length gaging by means of scales and verniers.

2. Equipped with racks, IRC member and TESLA NS 115 digital position readout.

3. Equipped with opto-electronic linear encoders Heidenhain LS 603 C and Heidenhain three-axis positionreadout VRZ750.

4. Without digital readout system, however with faces suited for the retrofitting of Heidenhain positionmeasuring system.

Electrical equipmentThe machine is driven by a three-phase induction motor.Starting, stopping and reversing is controlled by means ofpushbuttons on the front panel of the headstock. The motor isstarted as well as braked by counter-current in the startconnection. The full output of the motor is made use of in thedelta connection. During the start the switching-over up to 11 kWof output is done automatically and is controlled by a time relay.The load of the motor can be observed on an amm-eter. The motoris prote_cted against overload by thermal overload relays andfuses. Only the three-phase power may be used for thgdrive ofthe machine. The machine must be connected to ground and/orto neutral conductor in accordance with the regulitions in force.

The auxiliary pendant control panel provides for the followingcontrols:1. selection of sense of spindle rotation2. pushbutton for inching of spindle3. pushbutton lor continuous spindle operation4. STOP of motor, counter-current braking5. pushbutton for putting the panel into function6. signal lamp for putting the panel into function7. CENTRAL STOP, remote controlled switching-off of main

circuit breaker
