ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was started in 2004. The Department

caters to the need of the students by providing quality education. The Department has well qualified &

dedicated staff consisting 14 teaching staff & 5 Non-Teaching staff. Highly qualified experienced and

dedicated staff members are the backbone of the department.

This course is designed to meet the needs of Electrical Power Generation, Power Transmission and

Distribution, Electrical Power Utilization, Modern Control Theory, High Voltage Engineering, Circuits,

Machines, Drives, Analog Electronic Circuits, Digital Electronics, Signals and Systems etc.

The Department has faculty members from various specializations namely, Power Systems, Power

Electronics, VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, Electronics, Micro-Electronics and Control Systems and

Computer Applications to Industrial Drives. The faculty members are involved in Research Work and six

faculty members are Pursuing Doctoral degree. Department faculty have published 30 technical articles

in various Conferences, National and International Journals.

The Department deputes faculty members to attend seminars, workshop and conferences to gain

exposure on current trends in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Faculty members publish

research papers in National & International conferences. The Department is well equipped with state-of-

the-art laboratories with excellent computational facilities.

MESSAGE FROM HOD’s DESK It is indeed a great privilege to embark on our new venture of publishing the

department newsletter to showcase all our activities, curricular as well as co-curricular and is indeed a new leap in showcasing our development. I congratulate and appreciate the efforts made by all the faculty members of our department to bring out this newsletter. I wish the newsletter will reach greater heights in the days to come.

(ICCTCEEC) was conducted during 8-9 September 2017.

FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE

✓ The department has eleven laboratories equipped

with latest equipments to provide hands on

experience to students in all areas of their curriculum,

such as High Voltage, Electrical Machines,

Microcontroller, Control Systems, Electronics etc.

✓ Softwares available - MATLABR-2018a and

MiPower7.1.

✓ PCB Prototyping Machine, Solar PV, PLC & SCADA

Modules have been setup to carry out projects.

✓ Each classroom is provided with Impartus Lecture

Capture facility to record the lectures.

• Rahul Roshan P of 7th sem won 3 silver and 1 bronze medal in State

Roller Skating Championship.

Mysuru and has won CONSOLATION PRIZE.

Mysuru and has won SECOND PRIZE.

Sagar College, Bengaluru.

• Md. Momeen Khan of 6th sem won FIRST PLACE at the Inter Dojo

state level “SHITO-RYU KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP – 18” held at

Vasavi Prarthana Mandira, Mysuru.

• Danish Junaidi and Sajid Ahmed E S of 6th sem has won THIRD PLACE

in the “Project Expo : Rethinking Intellectual Property” organized

by IEI Mysore in association with Uddip Consultancy Services.

• Rashmi M N and A Meenakshi of 8th Sem has won SECOND PRIZE in

Paper Presentation at “INPHASE – 2018” organized by The National

Institute of Engineering, Mysuru.

• Vishwas H D of 4th sem was RUNNER UP in Handball inter collegiate

zonal tournament competition held at GEC, Ramanagara on 13th

March 2018.

• Nischitha K N of 4th sem Represented Karnataka State Team in 13th

south zone National Throwball Championship for women held at

Mandya during 20-21 January 2018 and Secured first position.

DEPARTMENT FEST

The department conducts Technical Fest “SURGE”

every year. The fest helps in bringing out the hidden

talents of the students. Students get an

opportunity to express and enhance their

knowledge by participating in the different events

conducted in the fest. Different events such as

Paper presentation, Model exhibition and Technical

talk from eminent speakers, Technical Quiz,

Photography contest, Circuit building contest

etc. are conducted for the students benefit. SURGE - 18

CAMPUS PLACEMENTS

Our students are placed in Infosys, Trianz, Mindtree, Happiest Mind Technologies and

Brigade . The Placements in the department is around 50% among the eligible students.
