Service Modifications Information

Service Changes By City

Spanish Information

Due to declining economic conditions, VTA will implement major bus and light rail service changes

on the following routes beginning Monday, January 11, 2010.

Please note that all times listed are approximate so plan ahead.

LIGHT RAIL CHANGES

Alum Rock – Santa Teresa Line

On weekdays and weekends, minor schedule adjustments will be made to early morning

southbound trips. On weekends, the 4:20 a.m. northbound trip will be discontinued. On Sundays,

the 12:57 a.m. southbound trip will be discontinued.

Mountain View – Winchester Line

Northbound service to Mountain View will end at 10:30 p.m. daily. On weekdays, the last

southbound trip will leave Mountain View at 10:51 p.m. On weekends, the last southbound trip will

leave Mountain View at 10:50 p.m. (See Bus Route 200 below.) On weekdays, the 2:34 p.m.

southbound trip will start at Civic Center and the 6:05 p.m. northbound trip will end at Civic

Center. On weekdays, the 1:40 p.m. northbound and 10:04 a.m. southbound trips will be

discontinued. On weekends, minor early morning southbound schedule adjustments will be made.

On weekends, the 5:57 a.m. southbound trip will start at Civic Center and the 5:08 a.m.

northbound trip will be discontinued.

New Bus Route 200: Two late bus trips will leave the Baypointe Station (heading to Mountain

View) between 11:00 p.m. and midnight. They will serve the bus stops adjacent to light rail stations

along Tasman Drive, between First Street and Fair Oaks, then head nonstop to downtown

Mountain View. They will not serve the light rail stations between Fair Oaks and Mountain View.

This schedule will be printed inside the light rail time guide. Valid light rail tickets and passes will

be accepted on this bus route.

Ohlone/Chynoweth – Almaden Line

On weekdays, the first southbound trip will arrive at Almaden at 6:13 a.m. and the first northbound

trip will leave Almaden at 6:23 a.m. The 10:23 a.m. northbound and 10:28 a.m. southbound trips

will be discontinued on weekdays (there will be a 30

minute gap in service). Weekend service will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

BUS CHANGES

Line 10: Santa Clara Transit Center to Metro-Airport LRT Station

Weekday service will operate every 30 minutes before 6:45 a.m. and the 4:27 a.m. eastbound trip

will be discontinued. Weekend service will operate every 30 minutes before 8:45 a.m. On

weekends, the 4:27 a.m. eastbound and 5:01 a.m. westbound trips will be discontinued.

Line 11: San Jose Market Center to Hedding & 15th

Weekday service will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday service will be discontinued.

Line 13: Almaden & McKean to Ohlone/Chynoweth LRT Station

Weekday service will operate every 60 minutes from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weekend service will be

discontinued.

Line 14: Gilroy Transit Center to St Louise Hospital

Weekday service will operate every 40 minutes during the midday. Minor weekend schedule

changes will be made.

Line 16 Burnett Ave. to Morgan Hill Civic Center

Minor schedule changes will be made.

Line 17: Gilroy Transit Center to Murray and Tomkins

Midday service will operate every 40 minutes.

Line 18: Gilroy Transit Center via Gavilan College

Weekday midday service will operate every 40 minutes and the 7:35 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. trips will

be discontinued. Minor weekend schedule changes will be made.

Line 19: Gilroy Transit Center via Wren & Mantelli

Weekday midday service will operate every 40 minutes and the 8:05 p.m. trip will be discontinued.

The 7:13 p.m. trip will end at Wren & 1st. The Saturday 6:57 p.m. trip will be discontinued. Minor

weekend schedule changes will be made.

Line 22: Eastridge Transit Center to Palo Alto Transit Center via El Camino

Weekday and weekend early morning schedules will be adjusted in conjunction with SamTrans

changes. Other minor schedule changes will also be made.

Line 23: Alum Rock Transit Center to De Anza College via Stevens Creek

Weekday 5:04 a.m. eastbound and 5:59 a.m. westbound trips will be discontinued. Saturday 7:09

a.m. eastbound trip will be discontinued. Sunday 7:09 a.m. and 7:55 a.m. eastbound trips and 5:40

a.m. westbound trip will be discontinued.

Line 25: Alum Rock Transit Center to De Anza College via Valley Medical Center

Weekday 5:27 a.m. eastbound trip and 4:43 a.m. and 5:25 a.m. westbound trips will be

discontinued. Weekday and weekend minor evening schedule adjustments will be made to

coordinate with Lines 66 and 68. Sunday service will operate every 20 minutes to Valley Medical

Center and every 40 minutes to De Anza College.

Line 26: Eastridge Transit Center to Sunnyvale-Lockheed Martin Transit Center

Weekday service will operate every 30 minutes and the 4:50 a.m. westbound trip will be

discontinued. On weekends, the last westbound trip will depart Eastridge at 9:35 p.m. Minor

schedule changes will also be made.

Line 27: Kaiser San Jose to Good Samaritan Hospital

Weekday service will operate every 45 minutes during the midday and end at 8 p.m. The 7:02 p.m.

eastbound trip will be discontinued. Saturday service will operate every 60 minutes from 8:30 a.m.

to 7:30 p.m. Sunday service will operate from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Line 31: Eastridge Transit Center to Evergreen Valley College

Weekday service will operate every 30 minutes and the 5:45 a.m. northbound trip will be

discontinued. Saturday service will operate every 60 minutes. Sunday service will operate from 9

a.m. to 6 p.m.

Line 32 Santa Clara Transit Center to San Antonio Shopping Center

Minor weekday and Saturday schedule changes will be made.

Line 33: McCarthy Ranch to Great Mall/Main Transit Center This route will be

discontinued.

Service to McCarthy Ranch will be provided by the new Line 47 (see turn by turn directions)(see

map) Service along Barber and Bellew will no longer be provided.

LINE 34: San Antonio Shopping Center to Downtown Mt. View Transit Center

The 3:15 p.m. eastbound and 3:43 p.m. westbound trips will be discontinued.

Line 35: Stanford Shopping Center to Downtown Mt. View Transit Center

Weekday 7:40 p.m. and 10:09 p.m. northbound trips and 5:44 a.m. southbound trip will be

discontinued. Saturday service will operate every 60 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday

7:23 p.m. northbound trip will be discontinued.

Line 37: Capitol Light Rail Station to West Valley College

Service after 6:30 p.m. will be discontinued. Midday service will operate every 60 minutes

between the Capitol and Winchester Light Rail Stations. Midday service between Winchester and

West Valley College will continue to operate every 30 minutes.

Line 39: The Villages to Eastridge Transit Center

Weekday service will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the 9:11 a.m. northbound trip will be

discontinued. Saturday 7:48 a.m. northbound trip will be discontinued. Sunday 8:50 a.m.

northbound trip will be discontinued.

Line 40: La Avenida & Shoreline to Foothill College

Weekday 5:30 a.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. Saturday service will operate every 45

minutes and the 6:35 p.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. Sunday 6:51 p.m. northbound and

6:27 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued.

Line 42: Monterey & Senter to Santa Teresa LRT Station

Routing will be extended south along Monterey Road to serve Menard Drive. Weekday 5:39 a.m.

and 7:39 p.m. northbound trips and 8:04 p.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. Saturday

service will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday service will be discontinued.

Line 43: Eastridge Transit Center to Alum Rock Transit Center This route will be discontinued.

Line 45: Alum Rock Transit Center to Penitencia Creek Transit Center

Minor weekday schedule changes will be made. Saturday service will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 6

p.m. Sunday service will be discontinued.

Line 46: Great Mall/Main Transit Center to Washington & Escuela via Yellowstone

Weekday service will operate every 60 minutes during the midday and end at 6:45 p.m. Saturday

service will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday service will be discontinued.

Line 47: Great Mall/Main Transit Center to Washington & Escuela via Park Victoria

Major routing change from the Great Mall to McCarthy Ranch via Park Victoria, Calaveras and

downtown Milpitas (see turn by turn directions)(see map) It will no longer serve Escuela Parkway

or Milpitas High School. On school days an extra bus will start at Park Victoria & Landess at 7:20

a.m. on Line 47 and continue on Park Victoria as Line 46 to Milpitas High School. A reverse 46/47

trip will leave Milpitas High School after school dismissal and continue on Park Victoria to

Landess. Weekday service will operate every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday service

will operate every 30 minutes from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday service will operate every 45 minutes

from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Line 48: Winchester Transit Center to Downtown Los Gatos via Winchester

Weekday midday service will operate every 60 minutes. Weekday 7:17 p.m. and 8:17 p.m.

northbound trips and 9:20 p.m., 10:08 p.m. and 11:08 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued.

Saturday 7:50 a.m., 8:40 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued. The 7:45 p.m.

southbound trip will stop at Winchester & Knowles. Sunday service will operate from 9:30 a.m. to

5:30 p.m.

Line 49: Winchester Transit Center to Downtown Los Gatos via Los Gatos Blvd

Weekday midday service will operate every 60 minutes. Weekday 7:05 p.m., 8:27 p.m. and 9:25

p.m. northbound and 7:53 p.m. and 8:56 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued. Saturday 8:06

p.m. northbound trip will be discontinued. Sunday service will operate from

10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Line 51: De Anza College to Moffett Field/Ames Center

The 5:47 a.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. Minor schedule changes will also be made.

Line 53: West Valley College to Sunnyvale Transit Center

The 6:09 a.m. northbound and 6:05 a.m. southbound trips will be discontinued.

Line 54: De Anza College to Sunnyvale/Lockheed Martin Transit Center

Weekday 6:04 a.m. and 9:11 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued. Saturday service will

operate every 45 minutes and the 8:08 p.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. Sunday service

will operate every 45 minutes.

Line 55: De Anza College to Great America

Weekday 5:38 a.m. northbound trip will be discontinued. Sunday service will operate every 45

minutes.

Line 57: West Valley College to Great America via Quito Rd

Weekday 5:26 a.m. and 5:48 a.m. northbound trips will be combined into one trip starting at

Saratoga & Campbell at 5:32 a.m. Weekday 6:18 a.m. northbound trip will start at Saratoga &

Campbell and 5:51 a.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. Saturday 8:26 p.m. northbound trip

will be discontinued. Sunday service will operate every 60 minutes.

Line 58: West Valley College to Alviso via Fruitvale

The 5:42 a.m. and 9:27 a.m. northbound trips will be discontinued. The 6:11 a.m. northbound trip

will start five minutes earlier.

Line 60: Winchester Transit Center to Great America

Weekday midday service will operate every 30 minutes and 5:05 a.m. northbound and 5:41 a.m.

southbound trips will be discontinued. Sunday service will operate every 45 minutes.

Line 61: Good Samaritan Hospital to Sierra & Piedmont

Weekday 5:34 a.m. northbound and 5:28 a.m. southbound trips will be discontinued. Minor

schedule changes will be made. Weekend service will operate every 60 minutes (30 minute

frequency on Bascom combined with Line 62).

Line 62: Good Samaritan Hospital to Sierra & Piedmont

Weekday 5:01 a.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. Minor weekday schedule changes will be

made. Saturday 9:44 p.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. Weekend service will operate

every 60 minutes over the entire line (30 minute frequency on Bascom combined with Line 61.)

Extra Line 62 buses will also operate between Civic Center and Capitol & Berryessa from 9 a.m.

to 6 p.m. to provide 30 minute service.

Line 63: Almaden Expwy. & Camden to San Jose State University

Weekday midday service will operate every 45 minutes. Weekday 5:29 a.m., 6:20 p.m., 7:42 p.m.

and 8:42 p.m. northbound trips and 8:29 p.m. and 9:29 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued.

Minor Saturday schedule changes will be made. Sunday service will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30

p.m.

Line 64: Almaden LRT Station via Downtown San Jose to McKee & White

Weekday and weekend schedule changes will be made. Weekday 8:51 p.m. northbound trip and

5:02 a.m. and 8:32 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued. Saturday 10:23 p.m. northbound trip

will be discontinued. Sunday 10:24 p.m. northbound trip and 5:43 a.m. and 10:05 p.m. southbound

trips will be discontinued. Sunday 6:55 a.m. and 7:25 a.m. northbound trips will be combined into

new 7:09 a.m. trip.

Line 65: Kooser & Meridian to Downtown San Jose

Service will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Line 66: Kaiser San Jose to Milpitas/Dixon Rd

Timepoint at Weller & Main will be changed to Main & Calaveras. Weekday midday service will

operate every 20 minutes. Weekday 4:52 a.m. northbound and 4:41 a.m. southbound trips will be

discontinued. The 5:00 a.m. northbound trip will start at Monterey & Senter. Minor weekend

schedule changes will be made. Sunday 5:37 a.m. northbound trip will be discontinued.

Line 68: Gilroy Transit Center to San Jose Diridon Transit Center

Weekday midday service will operate every 20 minutes and 5:11 a.m. northbound trip will start at

Monterey & Roeder. Minor weekend schedule changes will be made.

Line 70: Capitol LRT Station to Great Mall/Main Transit Center

Weekday 5:02 a.m. and 5:33 a.m. northbound trips will be combined into one trip starting at 5:23

a.m. The 4:59 a.m. southbound trip will start at the Hostetter Light Rail Station and the 5:08 a.m.

southbound trip will be discontinued. Minor weekday schedule changes will be made. Weekend

service will operate every 20 minutes.

Line 71: Eastridge Transit Center to Great Mall/Main Transit Center

Minor weekday and Saturday schedule changes will be made. Sunday service will operate every 45

minutes.

Line 72: Monterey & Senter to Downtown San Jose

Weekday midday service will operate every 20 minutes. Weekday 4:55 a.m. and 10:23 p.m.

northbound and 5:45 a.m. and 11:01 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued. Saturday 5:42 a.m.

northbound trip will be discontinued and minor schedule changes will also be made. Sunday

service will operate every 45 minutes and the 6:26 a.m. northbound and 7:15 a.m. southbound trips

will be discontinued.

Line 73: Snell & Capitol to Downtown San Jose

Weekday midday service will operate every 20 minutes and the 4:52 a.m. northbound trip will be

discontinued. Minor Saturday schedule changes will be made. Sunday service will operate every 45

minutes and end at 8 p.m.

Line 76: Los Gatos to Summit Road

This route will operate until the end of the school year in June 2010 and then be discontinued.

Line 77: Eastridge Transit Center to Great Mall/ Main Transit Center

Weekday midday service will operate every 20 minutes. Weekday 5:49 a.m. and 6:07 a.m.

northbound trips will be combined into a new trip at 5:55 a.m. Saturday 7:14 p.m. northbound and

8:29 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued. Sunday 7:14 p.m. northbound and 7:40 a.m., 7:45

p.m. and 8:29 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued.

Line 81: San Jose State University to Cupertino Square

Weekday 5:41 a.m. eastbound trip and 5:55 a.m. and 8:05 p.m. westbound trips will be

discontinued. Minor weekday schedule changes will be made. Weekend service will operate from

Cupertino Square to the Santa Clara Transit Center only, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Line 82: Westgate to Downtown San Jose

Weekday 5:36 a.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. Minor weekday schedule changes will be

made. Saturday service will operate every 45 minutes and the 6:45 a.m. and 8:12 p.m. northbound

and 8:00 p.m. southbound trips will be discontinued. Sunday service will operate every 60 minutes

Line 88: Palo Alto Veteran's Hospital to Middlefield and Colorado

The 6:17 a.m. northbound trip will be discontinued. Schedule changes will be made to several trips

(including 88L & 88M trips).

Line 89: Palo Alto Veteran's Hospital to California Ave. Caltrain Station

The 6:54 p.m. northbound trip will be discontinued.

Line 101: Camden & Highway 85 to Palo Alto

This route will operate with one trip in each direction. Morning trip will leave Camden & Hwy. 85

at 6:16 a.m., arriving at Hansen & Page Mill at 7:14 a.m. Afternoon trip will leave Hansen &

Page Mill at 4:40 p.m. and arrive at Camden & Hwy. 85 at 5:54 p.m. New timepoint will be added

at Hanover & Hillview.

Line 103: Eastridge Transit Center to Palo Alto

New timepoint will be added at Hanover & Hillview.

Line 104: Penitencia Creek Transit Center to Palo Alto

This route will operate two trips in each direction. The 5:19 a.m. westbound and 3:59 p.m.

eastbound trips will be discontinued. The stop at Weller & Main in Milpitas will be replaced by a

stop on Main St. under the Calaveras overpass.

Line 121: Gilroy Transit Center to Lockheed Martin Transit Center/Moffett Industrial Park

This route will operate six trips in each direction. The 6:06 a.m. northbound and 5:50 p.m.

southbound trips will be discontinued. The 6:20 p.m. southbound trip will run 10 minutes earlier.

Line 140: Fremont BART to Mission College & Montague Expwy

This route will operate three trips in each direction. Morning southbound trips will leave Fremont

BART at 6:44 a.m., 7:44 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. Afternoon northbound trips will leave Mission College

Blvd. & Montague at 4:15 p.m., 5:26 p.m. and 6:26 p.m.

Line 168: Gilroy Transit Center to San Jose Diridon Transit Center

This route will operate five trips in each direction. The northbound trips will leave Gilroy Transit

Center at 5:42 a.m., 6:12 a.m., 6:41 a.m., 7:16 a.m. and 7:46 a.m. The southbound trips will leave

San Jose Diridon Transit Center at 3:33 p.m., 4:03 p.m., 4:34 p.m., 5:08 p.m. and 5:38 p.m.

Line 180: Fremont BART to Great Mall/Main Transit Center/San Jose Diridon Transit Center

Weekday 5:27 a.m. southbound trip and Saturday 6:17 a.m. northbound trip will be discontinued.

Minor weekend schedule changes will be made.

Line 181: Fremont BART to San Jose Diridon Transit Center

The 6:11 a.m. southbound trip will be discontinued. The 5:20 a.m. and 5:49 a.m. northbound trips

will be combined into a new 5:35 a.m. trip. Schedule changes will be made.

Line 304: South San Jose to Sunnyvale Transit Center via Arques

The 5:28 a.m. northbound trip will be discontinued. Afternoon service will operate every 40

minutes. Minor morning schedule changes will be made.

Line 328 Almaden Expwy. & Camden to Lockheed Martin Transit Center/Moffett Industrial Park

Minor morning schedule changes will be made. Due to passenger requests, the afternoon trip will

leave the Lockheed Martin Transit Center at 5:06 p.m.

Line 330: Almaden Expwy. & Camden to Tasman Drive

The 6:23 a.m. northbound trip will be discontinued. Minor schedule changes will be made.

Line 522: Eastridge Transit Center to Palo Alto Transit Center

On weekdays, some early morning eastbound trips will be consolidated and schedule changes will

also be made. Saturday service will operate from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

DASH

Weekday midday service will operate every 15 minutes. The 6:33 a.m. trip will be discontinued.

River Oaks Shuttle

This route will continue to operate until July 9, 2010 and then it will be discontinued.

Great Mall Transit Center

Several bus stops will be relocated. These bus stop location changes will affect Lines 66, 104 and

321.
