    integrated Heterogeneous Network

    With a Heterogeneous Network (HetNet) the macro layers are overlaid with small cells,

    Background

    1. VF Group CEO and JC Decaux Group CEO had an agreement in Sep 2013 to set up a pilot for LTE

    performance zone. VF and JC Decaux work as partners to set up the pilot. Two network supplier's (ALU and

    Huawei) products used in the pilot. Project kicked off Nov 2013.

    2. VF NL and VF Group (Miguels team) work very closely within the project which speed up everything.

    3. The pilot have setup the industrial standard process for small cells deployment.

    1. Huawei 1800MHz, 2*15MHz ; ALU 2600MHZ, 2*10MHZ.

    2. 2x1 Watt (Maximum active customers: Huawei 100, ALU 64 )

    3. Fibre or 60GHz Backhauled.

    4. Huawei peak (93 Mbps vs 30 Mbps UL), ALU peak (60Mbps vs

    20Mbps)

    5. Live cell, normally 10-20 active users

    1. More than 100 people from 5 different companies.

    2. 5 week for first milestone, 3 months for second milestone, 10 months expected for third milestone.

    3. Industrial process for large scale rollout.

    1. More than 231 small cells locations have been selected, 194 locations have finished transmission design and

    ordering, large amount of fiber sites start to delivery end of July.

    2. Aug 1st all the physical installation and pre-configuration will be finished (casing, power, small cells and etc),

    project will be fully ready for delivery except for transmission delivery.

    3. Most of fiber expect to be ready around Sep 15th, industrial approach Plug and play will be used for fast

    commission hundreds of pre-installed small cells within 2 weeks. Project target to wrap up at Oct 1st.

    drops sharp while walking around a corner, overall gain is 43%.
