Marnie Uhl, CEO

Wow…Three big events, three weekends in a row in May. A huge thank you to my staff who went above and beyond in coor-dinating details and working the many long hours. To our board members, thank you for joining in the fun and providing much needed help and support. I am so lucky to have amazing board members who are happy to join in and mix it up. To Jimmy Cabral, stars! Your infusion of new ideas really kicked our annual Prescott Valley Days up and we look forward to an even better one next year. Everyone rocked it this year!

Our board elections are over and coming back to the board is Steve Bracety, general manager of the Prescott Resort and a huge chamber supporter. He has served in the past and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for business. Also reelected were Donna Laxson, Erin Vredeveld and Frank Almendarez who will continue their outstanding leadership. We say goodbye to Matt Zurcher who we have had as a valuable board member for six years. While he leaves an official capac-ity as a board member he will remain active as an Am-bassador and of course, as our favorite “turkey” for the Flying High Turkey Drive.

My annual plea for nominations for our Community Excellence awards is here! Please consider someone you know, an organization you work with, or a business you support for nomination. Information on categories is inside this news magazine as well as information on the annual banquet where the awards are presented. Nomination forms can be accessed by going to the chamberʼs website at www.pvchamber.org or email me at [email protected]. Please include your contact information on the nomination form so that we may no-tify you if your nominee is selected.

Have a great month… and remember to fly your Flag on Flag Day!

Chamber Board member and Scholarship Chair presented the Cham-berʼs scholarship award to graduating Bradshaw Mountain High School seniors Kirsi Steverson and Juli-anna Schuchard. Also receiving an award was Kaiser Anderson, a Prescott High School graduate who lives in Prescott Valley. They each received $1,000. The scholarship funds are raised throughout the year by the Chamber Ambassadors through raffles and fifty-fifty drawings. This year the Am-bassadors raised enough to fund three scholarship awards.
