Doing this Vox Pop I have learnt that it is used as a survey for companies to get ideas from the public so they are able to create the best product they can using these views. I have also learnt that the audience’s views are important when wanting to create an opening or film because if it doesn’t have any features that are enjoyed by the audience then the popularity of it will go down and have negative views because they have not enjoyed what we have produced. I have learnt that thrillers should be exciting and keeps the audience on the edge of their seats as well as giving them enigmas so they stay and watch it all rather than getting bored by the same conventions seen in the typical thriller films. If I was to do this again then I would definitely improve on the editing by adding more titles of question within rather than moulding the question together so it all fits however I am happy with what we created as it is good camera and sound quality, smoothly edited and fits with all the key features that a Vox pop should have. What have I learnt?

What do audiences like in an opening/thriller?

I found out that our audience liked a range of different yet similar ideas such as:

Characters Props Enigmas Effective music Action Close ups Special effects Suspension

How has the information influenced my opening?

This information has given me great inspiration and ideas of what key things I should really add into my opening such as creating suspense throughout using props and close up shots to keep the audience on the edge of their seat. I would also use the idea of enigmas so the audience are wanting to watch more of it to find out why this character is doing what they are doing or the meaning of a prop.
