Early Childhood Center Where love and learning go hand in hand. At the Early Childhood Center, our aim is to nurture each child’s natural curiosity, intelligence and enjoyments. Warmth and aff ection is a constant companion throughout the day, as are stimulating experiences.

Scottsdale Parenting Group SPG has served the community for over 20 years by providing parent education and resources and is now off ering their classes at the JCC.

Infant Class Pregnancy to One YearTh is class covers a variety of topics of interest to a new mother. Examples include social and emotional development, feeding, attachment and bonding, infant fi rsts, brain development and the promotion of successful sleep habits.

Toddler Class Ones & TwosMobility, asserted independence and exploration are under way! Th is class focuses on topics such as nutrition, napping, potty training, moving from the crib into a bed, preschool selection, social interaction and behavioral guidance.

Pre-School Class Th rees & Fours Education, play, socializing, eating habits and developmental milestones are discussed. Parents learn tools to guide their children through this discovery and transitional stage, while continuing to help build self-esteem.

Pre-K/Early Elementary Class 4 - 6 years Parents discuss early school experiences, family parenting styles, academic expectations, peer relationships and develop a variety of positive discipline strategies.

Continued Parenting Class 6 years & up Parents will learn and discuss the various milestones and challenges of raising a child. Topics might include school issues such as bullying, peer social relationships, drugs and making healthy choices but will vary based on the needs and composition of the class.Registration information to follow in the Fall Program Guide.

Our NAEYC National Association of the Education of Young Children accredited Early Childhood Center involves children ages 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten. Limited spaces are available in the Infant and Th rees classes.

Chaverim (Friends) Grades K - 4Our K - 2 campers receive weekly swim safety lessons, while 3 - 4 campers participate in free swim, fun pool games and water activities. We have added Chugs (hobbies) for all age groups with fun games and activities. Chugs gives your child the freedom to choose activities that they want to participate in.

Ruach-Tiulim (Trips) Grades 5 - 8 In conjunction with BBYO Teen ExperienceRuach is an extraordinary day camp experience for our mature campers. Th is program is set up to enlighten pre-teen minds while experiencing many things around the Valley. Campers go on weekly social action fi eld trips which provide community service opportunities.

Gesher (Bridge) Grades 9 - 10Our Counselor-In-Training program off ers the tools needed to become a successful camp counselor. C.I.T.’s learn leadership and programming skills, while learning how to work with children. Th ey are supervised by a full-time educator.

Itty Bitty Sports Grades K - 2Itty Bitty Sports Camp separates younger athletes from older ones to teach sports skills and fundamentals, in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere. Campers try a wide variety of sports as they build endurance and athletic skills.

Sports Camp Grades 3 - 8Your camper will be exposed to a wide variety of sports on a weekly basis. Campers will work on sports fundamentals while learning teamwork and sportsmanship. Our Sports Camp program is led by skilled coaches and counselors who are trained to teach your camper all aspects of the game, in a fun environment.

Habima (Performing Arts)Grades 2 - 8 Habima campers, along with a group of experienced theater buff s and an experienced director, will produce a great summer production. Camp includes all aspects of acting and stagecraft such as singing, dancing, music, set-design, costuming and make-up.

Beshul (Cooking) Grades K - 2 & 3 - 6 Join us for a two-week cooking experience as we learn to master this great craft. Learn the ins and outs of the art of cooking, including measurement, mixing, baking and much more! Th is Camp includes cooking, but also other traditional camp activities.

Gymnastics Camp Grades K - 4 Children will train, develop strength, fl exibility and beauty through gymnastics. Th is camp allows for the experienced gymnast to compete with the beginner while allowing for growth and understanding of being a gymnast. Children will develop positive at-titudes, leadership qualities and confi dence.

Banot (Strong Girls) Camp Grades 2 - 6 It’s all about girl power in Banot Camp! Girls have the opportunity to meet with a variety of incredible women to increase their knowledge in nutrition, cooking and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Th ey will participate in fun fi tness programs such as Pilates, Yoga, Zumba and more!

Mada (Mad Science) CampGrades K - 6Kids will explore the latest scientifi c discoveries and newest inventions, answering questions like “Why do stars twinkle?” “Why do fi sh have gills?” “What makes grass and trees green?” Campers will have a blast as their imaginations run wild with exploration of scientifi c theory and science.

Levnot (Lego) Grades K - 4 Th is is a hands-on camp where using their imagination, children will design and build inspiring objects out of Lego Bricks. Th ey will get a chance to explore engineering, architecture and physics. Th ey will develop problem solving and critical thinking skills to determine diff erent aspects of their creations.

Reggie Fox Basketball ClinicGrades K - 8Come join Reggie Fox and friends for a great basketball clinic. Reggie will help improve your shot, work on your dribbling skills, and help better your passes.

Seth Korey Half-Day Camp Grades K - 8 Th is half-day option is for Seth Korey campers only! For those campers who need late care, we are off ering late care hours Monday - Th ursday, 4 - 6 pm, and Fridays, 4 - 5 pm. Th ere will be planned activities such as; arts and crafts, sports, music, game room and more!

1:30 pm: Jews and Baseball: An American Love Story is a 2010 American documentary fi lm narrated by Dustin Hoff man, written by Ira Berkow and directed by documentary fi lmmaker Peter Miller. It is about the connection and history between American Jews and baseball.

Th e stereotype of Jews as non-athletic and anti-Semitism, are two issues that Jewish baseball players faced and had to overcome. Th e fi lm is in part about Jewish immigration and assimilation into American society, bigotry against Jews, the passing on of Jewish traditions even during assimilation, heroism, and the breaking of Jewish stereotypes. Th is movie is brought to us by the Jerry and Harryette David Family Foundation.

Valley Beit Midrash (VBM) is a collaborative organization that brings new, and relevant Jewish programming to the Greater Phoenix Jewish community.VBM off ers classes, panel discussions, and scholars-in-residence as part of its adult education off erings.
