Yankee Candle Fundraiser On Tuesday, September 11, the Instrumental Music Boosters kicked off a Fundraiser with Yankee Candle Fundraising! We have catalog and online sales to help you sell to aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and social media friends all over the country! There is a free Yankee Fund-raising App that you can download and use. It is extremely user friendly! I've already tried it out...and if I can figure it out anyone can!

It's a great time of year to fill your house with the cozy scents of autumn and the yummy scents of the holidays! Candles and Yankee Candle products make great gifts!!! But, if you don't like candles there are lots of other items available. Items for your home, family, car and even for your furry friends! Why not get your holiday shopping done in advance! Items will be delivered before Thanksgiving...so, that can be one item you check off your holiday 'to-do' list...EARLY!

In addition to adding money to student accounts, the boosters are adding another special incentive! The class (or group) with the highest average sales will receive a doughnut party! Whoo-hoo! High school students LOVE DOUGHNUTS!

We encourage sales to relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers...but, please NO door-to-door sales!

Catalog Shopping - Catalogs will be coming home with students starting 9/11 and or-ders can be placed using the order form provided. All order forms are due back to the Instrumental Music Room by Tuesday, October 2nd (checks made payable to WHS IMB, please!) and items will be distributed upon arrival in early/mid November. (You will be notified by e-mail when the items arrive). **No shipping charges and do not add tax for catalog orders.

Online Shopping - Shopping from the comfort of your own home can be done online at www.yankeecandlefundraising.com! You will need to enter our group number - 999983609 - and your students name where prompted so WHS IMB and your student get credit for the sale. These online orders will be shipped directly to a home address. **Shipping and taxes apply for online orders.

Help us make this fundraiser a huge success for the Instrumental Music Depart-ment! Please contact Michele Saelens at [email protected] with any questions. As always, thank you for all you do to support our program and our students!

SMALL BOTTLED WATER NEEDED

We need donations of small water bottles (8oz). Please send in donations of small (or large) or bring them to the

instrumental music room.

Help Needed The IMB has a lot of fun supporting the students, but it also takes volunteers to make it all happen. Below are some areas where we need YOU. Several of them are easy while others are more involved.

Restaurant Night Coordinator - Set up monthly restaurant nights with local restaurants and provide the flyer for the event.

Food Coordinator (Shadowers) -Our Food Coordinator handles the food needs for our big events and a few smaller ones. It’s been documented down to a science! Our current Food Coordinator is graduating out and we need someone to shadow her.

Quarters Auction and Bingo Coordinator (Shadowers) -These are our biggest fundraisers. We need folks to work together with a team to prepare our auction items and Bingo Bags. (QA is 11/30/18 and Bingo is 3/1/19)

Mattress Sale and Jazz Festival Coordinator –This is super easy! CFSBaltimore does all the advertising, and pays for the Jazz festival table. You would man the table at the Flower & Jazz Festival (5/11) and welcome the public to Mattress sale (5/18). No direct sales involved!

Flea Market Coordinator (6/22/19) This annual event will be held in June but contracts need to go out in Feb/March. Most work is done online before the event. Everything is laid out and detailed from previous years.

Sign Distribution and Pick Up –We use road signs to advertise most of our events. We need a few people to put them out and bring them back. Good and bad locations will be provided based on past sign loss.

Fall Yankee Candle Fundraiser –The fundraiser has already started, but we need someone to compile all the orders and work the distribution date (late Oct/early Nov).

Pizza Coordinator for Spring –Gianni’s or Joe Corbis— Tasks include updat-ing the pizza flyer, gather the orders and then distribute the orders when they come in.

All of these positions (and more) are open to any parent/guardian of a student in any of the music ensembles.

If you have any questions or are able to help out with any of these, please email [email protected].
