-What is your art a reflection of?

I would have to say a lot of my style comes from growing up in Hawaii and I would have to say a lot of my style comes from growing up in Hawaii and being around the surf, skate culture. A lot of my work are simply things I want to see painted and are influenced by things I see around me and some of my favorite artist styles. I really like to experiment with new mediums when I can. Lately I've been on a stencil, wheat paste trip and screen printing on canvas or wood, and a saggy eyed animal, creature painting trip. Painting and graphic design are fairly new to me, I started in San Francisco pursuing film and video but fell in love with design and paintFrancisco pursuing film and video but fell in love with design and paint-ing. I'd just like to see what I can do, what I'm capable of.

Tell me more about your wheat pasting. Has living in the city got you into it? What do you wheat paste?

Well I knew of wheat pasting Well I knew of wheat pasting before I moved to the city. Though, I didn't know how to create it. Living in San Francisco was a big help in me learning how to do it, after going to school, and immersing myself in a little immersing myself in a little of the graffiti and urban culture-- I picked up how to do a few things. I'm not great or heavily into it but I do enjoy the aesthetics of and would love learning more about it.about it.

Still no graffiti?

No graffiti. At least no letters of the alphabet, I can't do it. Although, I am working on some characters, illustrations, creatures, illustrations, creatures, etc. on large scales with spray paint though.

How do you capture your aesthetic?

I try to find it in the world around me and piece it together into some-thing I'd like to see on canvas, photo, film, etc.

Page 42: Volume I

I know you're a laid back person but do you ever create in spite of some-thing? Well I usually complete my favorite ideas regardless of what people think and I judge the final outcome. That's how a lot of my work gets given away, I'm usually not satisfied with the out-come or I want to add something more to it-- or tiny little things that may bug me about my work, that's when I usume about my work, that's when I usu-ally just throw it out or give to my friends who do like them. Thanks for the support.

Let's talk about film... are you in the midst of creating something?

Well in the long run, Well in the long run, I'd like a reel of my works over the years. I'm slowly but surely gathering footage I can stock up and work with eventually.

Do you find a rare difficulty between painting and film? Is one harder to do than the other?

I do to somewhat of a I do to somewhat of a degree, both aspects have there challenges. If I where to choose one though I would have to pick painting, it's still fairly new to me and I'm still new to me and I'm still learning more techniques, styles, colors, etc. Aside from doodles and sketches, I've never reallyworked on creating pieces. About 2 years ago, I've never really painted or I've never really painted or anything prior. I'm still learning.

Are or will you be show-casing your work anytime

soon?

That would be great, but

nothing at the moment. I

think I need more work.
