Present-day architectural trends, with their predilection for large glazed surfaces, have led to a widespread use of shading systems capable of
absorbing and/or reflecting solar radiation while limiting its heating capacity in the warmer months.

la Timone se caractérise par une architecture
résolument contemporaine. La façade latérale
du bâtiment médico-technique (BMT) est
notamment dotée d’un portique à colonnes
et d’un escalier monumental. La «Pédiatrie,
Maternité» a au contraire été conçue avec un
jeu de volumes adouci par des façades coniques
revêtues de terre cuite «brise-soleil».

In particular, the lateral facade of the “Medical

turin - tour sanpaoLo-iMiComme «suspendu dans l’air», ce gratte-ciel respectueux de l’environnement culminera
à 150 mètres de haut dans le panorama urbain de Turin, s’imposant comme le bâtiment
le plus haut de la ville. Ce projet a été conçu par l’architecte Renzo Piano pour accueillir
le nouveau siège du groupe Sanpaolo lmi. Transparence, légèreté et développement
durable sont les maîtres-mots qui ont guidé les choix architecturaux de Renzo Piano:
«Ce bâtiment, qui semble suspendu en l’air, explique l’auteur du projet, donne une
impression de légèreté et de transparence sans être un symbole arrogant de pouvoir,
comme c’est souvent le cas pour les constructions de ce type».

“suspended in the air”, 150 m high, the new skyscraper will be the tallest building in the
city and will dominate the skyline of Turin. This is the project that architect Renzo Piano
has fine-tuned for the new headquarters of Gruppo Sanpaolo Imi. Transparency, lightness,
environmental sustainability are the key words that describe Piano’s architectural choices:
“The building is almost suspended in the air - explains the author of the project - getting

guYancourt - cHaLLengerLe siège social de Bouygues à Guyancourt accueille chaque jour
plus de 3 000 employés. Baptisé « Challenger » selon la volonté de
Francis Bouygues, il évoque la volonté partagée de défi. Sous la
coupole octogonale de 30 mètres de haut se trouve le grand hall
central, qui abrite cafétérias et autres services offerts aux employés.
Le hall dessert les quatre ailes dédiées aux bureaux répartis sur trois
niveaux (surface totale : 50 133 m2).

Efficacité énergétique, matériaux et choix de construction innovants : telles sont
les lignes directrices de l’ensemble de ce projet signé par le cabinet Renzo Piano
Building Workshop Architects. Un projet qui s’étend sur l’ancienne zone Michelin,
à deux pas du centre historique de Trente, face à l’Adige, aux alentours du Palazzo
delle Albere.
trento - Le albere A major urban remodelling project extending over 11 hectares to house the

entre l’intérieur et l’extérieur et contribue de ce fait à créer une atmosphère accueillante pour les malades comme pour leurs
visiteurs. De l’intérieur du bâtiment, les usagers peuvent rester en contact visuel avec le paysage extérieur et apprécier
l’atmosphère relaxante de la végétation environnante. Les services, qui se superposent, forment des strates séparées par des
espaces limitrophes : terrasses végétalisées, places, jardins intérieurs. En harmonie avec le design particulier des espaces verts
extérieurs, ces zones donnent l’impression que les hôpitaux « fluctuent » au milieu de la végétation environnante, conférant aux
bâtiments une grande légèreté.

The interplay of volumes creates a system of spaces that ensure a constant visual permeability between the interior and
the exterior, thereby creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors. From inside the building, patients are able
to maintain a visual contact with the exterior landscape and profit from the relaxing atmosphere created by the vegetation
surrounding the building. The different functions overlap and leave boundary spaces between the layers, which become
green terraces, interior gardens and squares; because of this arrangement and the special design of the exterior gardens,
the hospitals seem to be “floating” in the surrounding vegetation and the buildings acquire an aura of weightlessness.

MiLan - iMMeuBLe résiDentieL De via Leone xiiiC'est à Milan, via Leone XIII°, que se dressera le nouvel immeuble résidentiel de huit étages hors de terre et trois niveaux de parkings
souterrains, au cœur d'un jardin accessible depuis les parties communes et équipé d'une salle de gym au rez-de-chaussée. Ce bâtiment - qui
remplace la maison de retraite israélite bâtie en 1973 par les architectes De Pas, D’Urbino et Bozzoli - se distingue par ses façades arborant des
parties pleines et des angles définis sur le plan architectural ainsi que par ses arcades scandées de brise-soleil qui assurent la continuité visuelle
de l'ensemble. La maison de retraite - trop vétuste pour être remise en état - a été transférée dans un nouveau bâtiment de via Arzaga et laissera
place à un immeuble d'habitation dont la réalisation a été confiée au cabinet d'architecture Beretta qui a fait appel à différents collaborateurs.
Le rez-de-chaussée du nouvel immeuble sera entièrement consacré aux services de copropriété et comprendra notamment une salle de sport
avec accès et vue sur un grand jardin extérieur. Très bien placé en termes d'installations techniques, le bâtiment table sur la classe A et a été
conçu pour réaliser le plus de gain d'énergies possible notamment grâce au concours d'experts internationaux.
MiLan - resiDentiaL BuiLDing in via Leone xiiiA new building to be erected in Milan, in via Leone XIII, will consist of eight storeys above ground and three underground car garage floors
situated within a garden accessible via the ground floor fitness facilities and common areas. The building - to replace a Jewish nursing home
for the elderly built in 1973 by architects De Pas, D’Urbino and Bozzoli - is characterised by fronts with solid parts and architecturally defined
corners and a loggia where carefully distributed sun screens give visual continuity to the intervention.
The previous structure was too badly deteriorated to be salvaged and the nursing home has been moved to a new building in via Arzaga. Its
place will be taken by a residential building for whose construction the Beretta architectural firm has relied on several collaborations.
The entire ground floor of the new building will accommodate common facilities, including a fitness area with vista over, and access to, a large
outdoor garden. At the forefront of technical plant technology, the building has been designed to be rated as Class A and to achieve optimal
energy savings and efficiency, also thanks to the contribution of international experts.
