Mr. Ron Reaguer Merger Committee Chair
Sunday, June 4th
, will go down in the history of our church as a very
important day. We will merge the two congregations and go to one
service on a permanent basis on that day. John May and I have been
working to accomplish this goal for several months now and it is cause for
celebration that this goal has been reached. This is the first step in the
process of completing the total merger. We are in the process of forming
the new corporation and titling the property to that corporation, Liberty
Road Faith Fellowship. Inc.
Our challenge now is to move forward in a positive manner to grow our
church and make it a viable part of God's kingdom on this earth and a
strong witness to our community and the city of Lexington. We all need to
pray for our Pastor Search Committee as they work to find a senior pastor
that they feel is God’s person to lead His congregation. We trust that the
Holy Spirit will lead them in this endeavor.
We need to enter this merger with the idea that we need to be sensitive to
each other's needs and be flexible enough to make any changes necessary
to ensure the success of this move.

Building On Faith: Continuing and Enhancing Our Legacy
By David and Jackie Bondurant
Plans are moving forward for our June 17 Planning Dialogue
sponsored by the Action Committee. We have met with our professional
facilitator, Sharon Marcum, and finalized our agenda for the day and
firmed up the logistics for a successful meeting.
The meeting is open to all members of Liberty Road Faith
Fellowship and Liberty Road Community Church. This is going to be a
time for discussing who we are, where we are going and how we’re going
to get there. All ideas are good ideas. We will take the thoughts offered
and with Ms. Marcum’s guidance distill them down to workable action
items with a timeline, responsible leadership and any cost involved.
The results of the June 17 meeting will be presented to the
Administrative Board for further discussion and approval.
The deadline for registering for the meeting is Noon Monday, June
12. We need to have definite numbers to plan for setup and for meals and
snacks. The Social Committee has agreed to provide for our coffee in the
morning, any breaks and our Noon meal at a cost of $10 per person.
This is going to be a great time to put our thoughts out to our
fellow members and in the end formulate an action plan for the future of
our church. Please consider registering on the clip board in the church
foyer or by contacting David Bondurant at [email protected]
or Jackie Bondurant at [email protected] or Norma Smither at

Faith from the Front Porch
By Jackie Bondurant
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take
thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:34
Where in the world does the time go? One day I am sitting on the front
porch thinking about all that needs to be done for the family Christmas
and the next day I’m in the family room trying to remember all that
happened during that whirlwind that was Christmas. Recent years are
relatively easy. We have given up the cut tree for a pre-lit artificial tree so
we can decorate early. We no longer have to worry about doing all the
decorations in a weekend. So, the front porch is first, the living room
second, the family room next, and finally, the candles in the windows are
lit. Our time with the family now comes every other year – to allow the
in-laws equal time – and their arrival is after Christmas Day – to give the
children the opportunity to have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in
their homes. There are places to sleep ten people in our house and the
week after Christmas, they all are filled. At this moment, the beds are
made, the decorations are safely stored, and the furniture back in the usual
arrangement. Two hundred and eighty days from now, I will be back on
the porch wondering how I will get all this done.
OUT - Cookout at Kinch Query’s, 9240 Hickory Hill at 4 p.m., followed by a scavenger hunt. Contact: Kinch at 608-2987.

Keep Unity From Grace for the Moment by Max Lucado
May the Lord lead your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s patience. 2 Thessalonians 3:5
“All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other”
(John 13:35). Stop and think about this verse for a minute. Could it be
that unity is the key to reaching the world for Christ?
If unity is the key to evangelism, shouldn’t it have precedence in our
prayers? Should we, as Paul said, “make every effort to keep the unity of
the Spirit through the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3 NIV)? If unity
matters to God, then shouldn’t unity matter to us? If unity is a priority in
heaven, then shouldn’t it be a priority on earth?
Nowhere, by the way, are we told to build unity. We are told simply to
keep unity. From God’s perspective there is but “one flock and one
shepherd” (John 10:16). Unity does not need to be created; it simply
needs to be protected.
How do we do that? . . . Does that mean we compromise our convictions?
No. Does that mean we abandon the truths we cherish? No. But it does
mean we look long and hard at the attitudes we carry.
In the Grip of Grace
