Are you as an individual and are we as a congregation of the Lords church answering His call? Over the last 10 days, many at Weber Road and throughout the brotherhood have offered to lend a hand to those in need. We have focused most of our help thus far on the local communities of Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, and Rockport. Don DHerde is the preacher in Aransas Pass and weve had a great relationship with that congregation for many years. We are thankful to the Riverside Church of Christ in the Calallen area for taking the lead to organize workers and appreciation to their minister, Matt Gibson, for his leadership. If you are interested in seeing pictures of much of this work, please go to Matt s Facebook page or see several of these pictures on page 3 of the Family Encourager. Work in still being done in the Coastal Bend community and will continue for the foreseeable future. If you would like to help in the clean up, contact the church office or Mark Hammitt and you will be given more information.

Hurricane Harvey

This Sunday, September 10th, Weber Road will set aside the entire contribution for hurricane relief efforts. The Weber Road elders will strive to use these funds responsibly to not only help those in need, but to bring glory to God in the process. Remember our purpose in shining our lights, found in Matthew 5:16, “...let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Hurricane Harvey left a definite trail of destruction throughout Texas. It is amazing to witness the power of wind and rain and it was only a small glimpse as to what the people in Noah’s day faced when the world was wiped clean by a world wide flood.

There are so many needs after a natural disaster, so we must pick our spots to help and do so with all of our might. This is one of those times when God presents us with opportunities to serve. Are you as an individual and are we as a congregation of the Lord’s church answering His call?

Over the last 10 days, many at Weber Road and throughout the brotherhood have offered to lend a hand to those in need. We have focused most of our help thus far on the local communities of Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, and Rockport. Don D’Herde is the preacher in Aransas Pass and we’ve had a great relationship with that congregation for many years. We are thankful to the Riverside Church of Christ in the Calallen area for taking the lead to organize workers and appreciation to their minister, Matt Gibson, for his leadership. If you are interested in seeing pictures of much of this work, please go to Matt’s Facebook page or see several of these pictures on page 3 of the Family Encourager.

Work in still being done in the Coastal Bend community and will continue for the foreseeable future. If you would like to help in the clean up, contact the church office or Mark Hammitt and you will be given more information.
