Salil Dev Singh Bali welcomed all the teachers Rotarians, Anns and our talented children who were present to sing poems and songs dedicated to the teachers. We also had gracious presence of Mr. Subhash Chander Malik, father of PP Rtn. Dr. Rita Kalra, to whom the President handed over the proceedings. Dr. Rita formally introduced the Chief Guest Mrs. Indra Beniwal, Dy. Director, Secondary Education, Haryana. Born in Delhi she was brought Mrs. Indra Beniwal up in Haryana, doing her schooling in Sirsa and Hissar. She graduated from Kurukshetra University and in 1996 was employed as a Lecturer in Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sector 7, Panchkula. In 2004 2018 she served as Principal. Her husband is Chief Marketing Executive Officer in Haryana Govt. Her son is an Engineer and daughter is doing MBA. She has been honoured with several commendation certificates and state awards. Dr. Rita invited Chair Literacy Rtn. Anupam Jain to announce the names of 24 teachers who were presented the Nation Builders Awards by Chief Guest Mrs. Indra Beniwal. These awards were given to outstanding teachers of government schools of Chandigarh Tricity after a detailed evaluation process under Rotary India Literacy Mission (RILM). The teachers selected for this prestigious awards were: Anita Saini of GHS Kotia, Sudha Sharma of GGMSSS-20B Chandigarh, Yogita of GSSS Saketri, Ashok Yadav of GMHS MM Chandigarh, Neha of GHS-17 Panchkula. Neelam Jain of GGMSSS-20D Chandigarh, Meenakshi Sharma of GGMSSS-28D Chandigarh, Shimla Devi of GPS Fatehpur, Suresh Kumar of GMHS-41 Chandigarh, Indu Sharma of GIMSSS-12A Panchkula, Sushila Gupta of GSSS Bhuri, Jyoti & Lalita Gulia of GMHS Dhanas, Jyoti Singh of GSSS Tikkar, Monila of GSSS-19 Panchkula, Naresh Kumar of GPS Abheypur, Vinay Kumar of GSSS Morni Hills, Ramesh Kumar of GMSSS-20 Panchkula, Namita of GSSS-6 Panchkula. PDG Shaju Peter thanked Mrs. Indra Beniwal for her presence in spite of her busy schedule. He remembered his school teachers and friends also.

PDG Shaju also thanked President Salil Dev Bali and PP Dr. Rita Kalra for their efforts for celebrating Teachers Day. He also congratulated all the

children for their wonderful performances. President Salil Bali inspired all these children by presenting them attractive gifts.

Teachers Day celebrated at GES Peermashalla

Teachers Day was celebrated at Govt. Elementary School, Peermachalla, Zirakpur on 05 September 2019. This school was completely renovated

in previous Rotary year with global grant and donations from our Rotarians and their relatives.

On 06.09.2019 at Juvenile Justice Board President Salil Bali

gave legal counseling and aid to children. PP Dr. V.J.S. Vohra

gave audio visual presentation on stress management and

power of mind by showing how disabled persons empower

themselves. President Salil Bali and Dr. Vohra also had

discussions with Member Dr. Satinder Kaur (R'ann Vinny

Sachdeva) and Supt Sham Lal.

RCC for Sustainable Society gave training on hardware and

repair of computers

to inmates. Personal

counseling sessions

were undertaken for 2 inmates by PP Dr. Rita Kalra and Mr.

Hand wash awareness and Dus ka Dum at Model Public Inter College Lucknow

on 09.09.2019 by Rtn. Salil Chopra

This project is the initiative of IPP Ashok Puri, PP B.L.

Ramsisaria, PP Kanan Diwan and PP Amarjit Singh. During

the visit of PRIP Raja Saboo to this School on completion of

the project, President Salil Dev Bali had committed that he

would continue to help the School and on Teachers Day our

Club donated 4 Steel Almirahs worth Rs. 25000/- for storage

of Books and School Material.
