_____________________________THERE’S A STORM COMING - You would have to be blind-folded, ear-plugged, and locked in a soundproof base-ment on an uncharted island in the arctic to not know that we, as a nation and as a world, are in the middle of a health cri-sis. Yes, I’m referring to the novel coro-navirus that currently plagues just about everyone’s existence. Known officially as COVID-19, this is one mean seven-head-ed monster that shows very little, if any, mercy. It is not just one small individual virus, but a conglomeration of many lit-tle viruses put together. That said, there is really no way of battling this entity as it mutates very rapidly and parts of it die before other parts do. It simply does not drop dead all at once. Chop off one head and another two or three heads grow in its place. How do you possibly battle some-thing like that?

I want you to understand that I am not at-tempting to induce panic here, but we have scientifically hit a brick wall with respect to this nasty bug. The Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, with the many brilliant medical minds that work there, is feverish-ly working to figure out how to surround and ultimately destroy this public menace. They tell us, and I believe it, that a vac-cine is in the works, but it will be 12 to 18 months before it is available. Our gov-ernment, on the other hand (citing no one person in particular), says that the vaccine will be out soon. Please, somebody, define “soon” for me. Who shall we believe? With the medical knowledge that I hold, I would side with the scientific aspect, rather than the political meanderings being afforded to us at present. Simply stated, I don’t like being lied to. Period.

Now, after that little rant, here is what we at the pharmacy plan to do. Should a quarantine be put in place here in our re-gion, we will be here at the pharmacy, to the best of our ability, to insure that your supply of medicine will not be interrupted. If you are ill, please stay at home. We de-liver and will get your medicine to you. If I have to make deliveries all day long, so be it. Any monies due will get figured out at the time. This is not an advertisement for

business. As a health care provider, this is a commitment to our patients and customers that we will do what it takes to keep you healthy and get on the other side of this unfortunate situation. The time for trying to contain this virus is over. It is now up to each and every one of us to do what we must to protect and keep ourselves healthy and out of harm’s way. WASH YOUR HANDS!! Do this several times a day. AVOID TOUCHING YOUR FACE!! This is the most prevalent way that germs are introduced into the body. If you are sick, WEAR A MASK!! Even though they are not completely effective, they may just single out that one tiny micro-organ-ism that might cause you grief. BE CAU-TIOUS OF PERSONAL CONTACT WITH OTHERS!! If you get a hug or a handshake, try to “sanitize” yourself as soon as possible. If we all pitch in and work together, we can eventually eliminate this problem that we all face. If you have any questions or there is something we can do to help, please give us a call.

Personally, I don’t care for storms, but I do miss those hugs.

-Kevin

Residents and Property Owners in the Village of St. Paris,

Soon you will be asked to vote on a property tax in the amount of 4 mills for a period of five years to rebuild and maintain our streets. That infrastructure has been an ongoing dilemma in our village and we are now at the threshold of fixing that problem.

This 4 mill levy will demonstrate to the state of Ohio our intent to better our infrastructure, and we will have a company on hand to assist in securing all grants that are available to us, along with zero in-terest loans. No matter the outcome of grants and/or zero interest loans that we may obtain, with the passing of this 4 mill levy on property, we will start the process of repairing all streets in our village.

Please take into account that this will not be a one street per year process. Our objective is that all street rebuilding and resurfacing will be done in 24 months after the passing and receiving of the 4 mill levy on property.

If, as residents of our village, we truly do care about our infrastructure, then the time is at hand to be a part of the process and make it happen.
