RAMBLIN REPORT Happenings The September campout was scheduled for Ocala North along with North Flor- ida Lifetime Sams and it was canceled due to Hurricane Dorian. The October campout was held October 11-13 with early bird on the 10 th at Sandy Oaks RV Resort in Beverly Hills, FL. Rich Gavin, Chick and Debby Thompson, Bob and Sarah Edmondson, Rich and Pam Frederick, John and Sue Johnson, Bruce and Janet Duvall and Ken and Sherrie Risberg all attended the campout. Rich G. arrived on Monday along with Chick and Debby. They enjoyed catch- ing up while they waited for everyone to arrive on Thursday. Thursday brought Bob and Sarah, Rich and Pam, John and Sue and Bruce and Janet. Rich and Pam arrived in a new to them 2017 Jayco Precept motorhome. After setting up everyone enjoyed taking time to catch up. Everyone did their own thing for supper and the evening. Friday morning, Rich G. and Rich F. fixed a water issue in the new coach. They finally found leaves in a pipe, once gone, the water flowed. Bruce and Janet went off to find Walmart and enjoyed lunch at Subway. John and Sue also made a trip to Walmart. Sue was also busy working on her sewing. Early in the afternoon, Ken and Sherrie arrived. Ellie was happy to finally meet Deb- by and Chick. We gathered in the shade at Rich G.’s and enjoyed an afternoon of catching up. After dinner on our own, we went to the clubhouse. There was a boisterous game of I Need It with many different winners. Saturday morning we gathered at the building for a business meeting. Janet did a great job as vice president and ran the meeting. When we finished, we decid- ed to take a break, have some lunch, walk the dogs, and sit and chat before we gathered at 1:00 to stuff the bears for Camp Boggy Creek. Rich G. worked on cleaning the grill for us to use for supper. 1:00 quickly arrived and everyone participated in the bear stuffing. We stuffed, closed the butts, tied ribbons and had a picture taken with all the bears in an hour and a half. Great job! Thanks Sherrie for sewing the bears to be stuffed. As we walked back up the hill in front of the rigs, we stopped by Rich and Pam’s for a tour of the new rig. We also stopped by Chick and Debby’s to see their new, since they camped with us rig. They have had it for a while and have done a great job making it their home. Rich G. got the grill going so it would be hot for us to cook. We grilled our own meat-steaks, hot dogs, hamburgers and more. Everyone enjoyed all the sides that we had brought. Sherrie was very happy when Chick pulled her ticket for the 50/50. We reminisced about Roy Ravn and his Sunset Pie. The game of the night was Sevens. Sherrie helped Rich G. type up the first draft of guidelines for wagon mastering for the chapter. When they were finished they were dealt into the game. Pam was the biggest loser with Janet close behind. Camping Tips

When backing a trailer, place your hand at the bot-tom of the steering wheel. Move the bottom of the wheel in the direction you want the rear of the trailer to move.

The winner was Rich F. Sunday morning Rich and Pam were having trouble with the remote entry locks on the rig. Bob came over to help them and they tried several sets of new batteries from the same package. Finally Bob went to his rig and got a different package and solved the problem. Guess it was a bad package of new batteries. The traditional street party to say good bye gathered at the back of Rich G.’s rig. Rich G. and Chick and Debby will enjoy a final afternoon be-fore saying good bye on Monday morning. The next campout is the state rally in Eustis. See you there! We held a meeting, so please read the minutes sent by email. We selected a nominating committee, determined our donations, collected dues, discussed the November rally, discussed a plan for wagon master, and volunteered for items for Christmas dinner and for newsletter reporters. Please remember to email Rich G. every month to let him know if you are coming or not, this will make his job, easier. Please be sure to make your reservations for each campout as soon as possible-it helps the campground know how many of us are planning on coming and keeps us from losing our reservation as a chapter. Thank you for the great support of the monthly food bank collection. Please continue to pray for each other-that’s what helps bind us together as a chapter family. PLEASE LET US KNOW YOUR PLANS FOR ALL CAMPOUTS. Please send Rich Gavin, wagon master and Pat Dean, president, an email, or make a phone call with your plans. Communication is important. Campgrounds ask questions, people get worried when you don’t come at your normal time. Their email addresses and telephone numbers are on the front page. Thanks for your cooperation in letting them know your plans. Campouts are held Fri-day-Sunday with early birds on Thursday or earlier if desired. Please try very hard to make your reservations at least 30 days in advance. Food: Bring your own plate, silverware and drink to any food gathering (paper, plastic, or real-your choice). Friday nights you are on your own to go out to dinner, eat in your rig, or join others for dinner. Please include guests in your dinner plans. Don’t assume someone else has. Saturday nights we will gather for dinner at 5:30. Please let people know ahead of time if you won’t attend above meals-so they won’t worry about you.

I had a wonderful time taking a long summer’s nap at Bruce and Janet’s house. I awoke just in time to travel to Sandy Oaks. At the meeting, I left Bruce and Janet and went home with Rich Gavin.
