Warm Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!!!

Once again we are in a time of trouble. The second wave of the pandemic Covid’19 is devastating our country like anything. News that is coming is not that good, rather it is frightening. It shows how horrendous the situation is, which our country is passing through. Today when I am preparing this message, India’s corona virus death toll has crossed 2,50,000. The second phase of this pandemic is more deadly than the first. As the pandemic rampages through our country, it leaves families to weep over the dead, both rural and urban Hospitals are inundated with patients. In many hospitals in our country, there are scarcity of beds, drugs, Oxygen, and ventilators. Our nation, world’s second-most populous country is literally standing spell-bound before this deadly pestilence. The present situation seems to be beyond our control. When the situation becomes overwhelming or when we feel we are trapped and when the future seems likely to be obscure, where should we knock for help? There is only one place to look for help, which is the presence of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible says, “THE NAME OF THE LORD IS A STRONG TOWER. THE RIGHTEOUS MAN RUNS INTO IT AND IS SAFE” (Proverbs: 18:10)

mountains around them and the strongest army on earth behind them. Moses realized that there was only one place to look for help: up to the heaven. Moses looked up to the face of Almighty God, who created the universe and God delivered them. Moses knew the fact that situations which are out of our control are firmly in God’s grasp.

In one of the difficult times in the life of Israelites, Prophet Zechariah told them to return to their stronghold, “RETURN TO YOUR STRONGHOLD, O PRISONERS OF HOPE, TODAY I DECLARE THAT I WIIL RESTORE TO YOU DOUBLE.” (Zech: 9:12) Which is our strong hold? No doubt Jesus is our stronghold, that’s what Solomon the wise righty says, “The name of the lord is a strong Tower”. In this time of trouble let us be the prisoners of hope, and hold on fast to the hands of our compassionate God and be safe. Nearly three hundred years ago, when ‘good queen Anne’ was dying, and the British Protestants feared for their future, then Isaac Watt, wrote a timeless- Millennial Hymn, which reminds us that “A thousand ages in God’s sight are like an evening gone”. This Hymn is a prayer addressed to God, “O God, Our help in ages past / Our hope for years to come.” This hymn gave immense relief and peace to the British people and filled them with faith and hope.

Dear friends, this God is the same yesterday, today and forever. We serve this God who is our help and our hope and of Him we claim “Sufficient is your Grace and our defense is sure.”

WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIPWOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP“The Salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their refuge in the time of trouble” ( Psalm 37:39)

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Bible study was conducted on all Wednesdays by Rev.John Joseph achen. We started the study on the book of Romans.

On April 24th Saturday we had our monthly retreat at 7.00 p.m. The message was given by Mrs. Elsy Jacob, Kottayam. The Theme was ‘Preaching the Word, be ready in season and out of season.’ It was a very meaningful and encouraging message. As it was Saturday, many working women also could attend the retreat.

Lenten Scripture Exam was held on 18th April, Sunday at our church. On 30th April, Friday, we started our intercessory prayer (meditation). It was from 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon. It was a great blessing as we could sing and praise God for his blessings and to intercede for our nation, city, our church and our beloved ones.

We extend our sincere thanks to Rev .John Joseph Achen and Rev. Aneesh Mathew achen for their advice and support in all matters.
