St. Kilian Parish is a Catholic community of faith responding to the call of Jesus Christ through the proclamation of Scripture, the celebration of Eucharist, and in living the sacramental life of the Church. We are committed to responding to each other through communities and ministries of faith and love, addressing our spiritual, social and educational needs. We believe that each of us is called to be a supportive, compassionate, and caring Christian witness in Mission Viejo, the Diocese of Orange and in the world.

VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
On Saturday, January 28, 2017 the Street & Sheltered Point-in-Time Count & Survey is conducted across Orange County. This is an essential step and required by HUD for the county to maintain funding used in the fight to end homelessness. The count is done to understand
homelessness in our community in order to end it. The ”Point-In-Time” count & survey provides statistically accurate data on the homeless population in Orange County.
Point in Time needs an estimated 1,500 volunteers to work in the field and at deployment
centers on the morning of the count. Deployment centers are located strategically throughout Orange County and the fieldwork takes place in the streets. Volunteers walk map areas throughout the county that are either “hot” or “warm” spots, where people experiencing
homelessness are sleeping in areas not meant for human habitation.
They need YOUR help to make everyone count!
For more information email [email protected] Volunteer today at www.pointintimeoc.org
There are training sessions available at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center in
Mission Viejo during the month of January.

The King of Love vs. the King of Power
“Herod is a tyrant; Jesus is a servant. One manipulates the weak and the poor; the other serves, heals,
empathizes, and loves with total self-denial. We should not forget that these two kings always battle within
ourselves. It is the fight between pride and humility.”

Good Samaritan Ministry
Here at St. Kilian, we have a number of parishioners, most of them seniors, who no
longer drive, and are in need of a ride to Mass on the weekends, an occasional ride to a doctor
appointment or a ride to go food shopping, etc. Our Ministry provides these rides rather than
having them dependent on a taxi system that isn’t quite as personal.
If you know of anyone in our Parish in need of this assistance, please call Tonya and Dennis Ferry at (949)768-1675. If you would like to join us in
the Ministry, we’d love to have you with us. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is
required.
Again, please call Tonya and Dennis at the number above.
Thank You!
