Merry Christmas, Frohe
Weihnachten, メリークリスマス,
Now is a good time to re-
flect back to see how Sister Cit-
ies has impacted our lives. We
have many friends in Scotland
and Germany who are now part
of our family. People outside of
the Sister Cities scope do not
understand this, but we do. Be
sure to reach out to our friends
during the Christmas season to
keep our bonds alive and well.
Yes, Sister Cities of Vandalia al-
so has friends in Japan. We all
remember Aya Watanabe and
her family who were active with
us during their time spent in
Ohio. As you can tell by the
“dates to remember”, 2017 will
be a busy year for us. We are
already working on the Ayrshire
Fiddle Orchestra visit. This great
event is good for Sister Cities of
Vandalia as well for the City of
Vandalia and Butler Township.
Be sure to mark your calendar
for the concert and tell your
friends. More details will follow.
The dates are set for our
official visit to Lichtenfels next
year. Check the dates and start
planning for another visit. As al-
ways, it will be a great time visit-
ing all of our friends. The basket
festival will be going on the
weekend that we will be there
and some of you know that is a
party to remember.
