Dear Parents & Guardians,
We would like to thank you for the opportunity to meet with you and your child at the
Student Led Conferences held in March. Our attendance was 98.2% on those two
nights. The remaining 1.8% rescheduled meetings at a later date. That’s remarkable!
We continually strive for a close working relationship with our students and parents,
so thank you for staying connected with us throughout the school year.
If at anytime you have any questions about your child’s progress, do not hesitate to
contact the teacher directly.
Sincerely,
Mr. H. Martinez, Principal

Mosaic:
Over the last number of weeks, the grade 7's & 8s
have been working hard on their Cultural
Mosaic project. This project requires them to
choose a country of interest, research the country
in depth, and create a presentation that includes
a variety of information; some say the best part is
the food!
Please come and join us on April 18th at Waldeck
School from 6:30-8:00 pm to
enjoy the culture of many
Nations and the hard work of
the grade 7 and 8 students!
Genius Hour:
Genius Hour is a 4 month project that allows our
grade 9s student to research in depth on any
topic of their choosing. Mr. Martinez, Ms. Koczka,
and Ms. Schellenberg act as facilitators, with
ownership of learning put on the grade 9s. This
project contains only three guidelines. It must be
researched, it must have a driving question, and it
must be shared or presented.
With this in mind, the grade 9s will
be presenting Genius Hour on April
18th from 6:30-8:00 at Waldeck
School in the gym. Please come
out and support these young
innovators as they share new
knowledge of their own interests!
Everyone is welcome!
** Please note that the date was moved to April
18th, due to scheduling conflicts. We apologize
for any inconvenience this may cause.

Mosiac and Genius Hour
This was a fairly quiet month for Me-to-We. We
did our weekly canteens but we were not able
to coordinate a day to cook at The Center.
The big excitement was the trip to the We
Schools Conference in Saskatoon on March
28. Here's what some of our members had to
say about it :
...We got to interact with people (our group,
other schools and the leaders).
...It was awesome because we were in the
movie theatre and we played games and did
activities.
...The activities about water security were fun!
...We got to start a project together.
...We got the opportunity to talk about the pro-
ject we did and talk to other kids.
Me to We

Waldeck School on April 10th. They will be
performing a few musical numbers for our

19th.
On May 9th & 10th, the Sr. Band will be
heading to Lethbridge on tour.
During the first week in May (Date TBA), we
will have band recruitment for students who
are interested in joining band in the fall. At
that time Gr. 4 students will have the oppor-
tunity to try various instruments with the
band instructor, Mrs. Jen Switzer.

Badminton tryouts are finished and now we have a
lineup that we can be proud of. We have many return-
ing veterans who are ready to hone their skills even
further, and we have an excellent core of players com-
ing up as rookies. Here is the following teams and
their positions.
Boys Singles:
Justin Dueck
Zack Painchaud
Girls Doubles:
Tori Hansen and
Aradyn Norman
Mixed Doubles:
Erin Gray/Karter Petras
We are hoping to connect with other schools and play
some matches prior to the Sub Sectionals tournament
on Saturday, April 28th at Herbert School. Unfortu-
nately we will only be able to bring approximately 8
students to that specific tournament so are looking
for other teams we can play.
We are looking forward to an enjoyable season where
our goal is to become better players whether we are
rookies or veterans!
Parents, thank you as well for your willingness to drive
after school allowing your children to take part in
school sports. You are a large part of the reason we
have run a successful badminton program over the
years.
Thank you! Marv Parschauer

Hey all Waldeck School Parents, grand-
parents, friends of students and community
members!
Our school gym is in desperate need of a new
sound system (anybody else have a hard time
hearing clearly, things like, the Christmas
concert?! ♀️)
We are having a PIG ROAST AND
DESSERT AUCTION on Tuesday, May
29th at 5:30 to raise money to (hopefully!)
provide a new one!
Aside from the dessert auction, we are look-
ing for items to be live auctioned off and
items for a silent auction table.
Before we head out to businesses, we wanted
to reach, first, those who have a direct con-
nection with the school.
If you would like to donate something, feel
free to let any of the SCC members know!
(Rachelle Patzer, Honey Martens, Loni Chu-
baty, Jill Martens, Kelly Petras, Crystal
Blades, or
Naomi Greenwood).
Items can be just about anything! Jerseys,
summer swim passes, meat, quilts, wood-
work, homemade anything...seriously, you
name it! If you work for, own and operate or
have a
personal connection to a business, maybe
they’d like to donate something as well?
This year we’ve been focusing on community
and we are so grateful for this rural communi-
ty that we live in!
Looking forward to an awesome evening
together!
