I went to a cycling competition. We travelled there in a minibus. Firstly we did a sprint on the bikes then a lap and then some did 2 laps. We came 4th and 5th and I loved the event, although it was tiring. Scott H Yr 5

On Tuesday 9th July Brixworth School took part in a cycling competition. There were 6 teams. Brixworth was split into 2 teams. We came 4th and 5th on the leaderboard. There were 3 different bike races, 50m, endurance race and the major race. Oliver C Yr 5

On Wednesday 3rd July a visitor came in because it was Greek day. We played a game and we marched like Greek soldiers on the field. We heard a story about the Greek soldiers life and we did some Greek writing and even made some medicine. Wendy W Yr 3

We had a visitor from Greece come and end our Greek topic. He told us how he grew up to become a warrior. I really enjoyed making medicine, it was really good to see what was involved. I crushed pepper to help cure a cold or flu and we cut bits of cinnamon and ginger for the cure of stomach ache. Freya R Yr 4

On Friday 28th June, the whole of year 5 went to Hazard Alley in Milton Keynes. We were split into 6 groups and my favourite activity was when we had to go into a house. The doorbell went and the lady went outside and the fire alarm went off and smoke came out under the door. We had to rush out and call 999. Jemima H Yr 5

Hazard Alley was really good as we learnt what to do in a real life emergency. My favourite part was when I was ringing 999. AJ Mc Yr 5

It was really great and very useful to know all about how to be safe. We also had to call 999 as if it was a real emergency. The most useful thing I learnt that I hadn't known before was to trust your instincts when approaching a dark alley. I also never knew you had to be 3 meters away from overhead wires or it would be dangerous. The day was really fun and very useful. Isabella T Yr 5
