Warning ● In case of connection with the instrument, keep strictly to the following items. Ifneglected, it may cause an unexpected failure or a damage to the instrument.

・ Be sure to set the power supply to OFF, when the connection will be made.

・ Since the terminal blocks at rear side of the instrument is made of resin, take care not todrop it down or not to apply strong impact.

・ Recommended torque to tighten the terminal screws for terminal block should be asfollows:

Terminal block Torque to tighten the terminal screws

Terminal block 1 0.6 N・m

Terminal block 2 1.4 N・m

Protective groundterminal block

1.4 N・m

・ The suitable crimp type terminal lugs for the terminal block are as follows:

Terminal block Width of crimptype terminal lugs Suitable crimp type terminal lugs

・ Connecting cable with the instrument should be away from the noise source such as powersupply line and/or I/O line for control and so on as far as possible.

・ Conduit wiring should be the type of exclusive one, and avoid using with another linetogether.

・ All of the connections should be executed securely by referring to the Instruction manualfor the instrument.

3−3−1. Connection for voltage input

This instrument can connect with the usual voltage output source and the pressure sensor, and

so on., with voltage output (0~5 V or 0~10 V). Here, we will describe the example of

connections with the usual voltage output source and the pressure transmitters.

● Please use the shielded cable for the connection with voltage input terminal, andconnect the shield cable with E terminal(Terminal No.5) of this instrument. If notconnected, it may cause the malfunction by the influence of the exogenous noise etc.

● The supply power supply for the sensor is not built into this unit. Please supply the power supply suitable for the specification of the sensor from theoutside.

4.Calibration procedures

Warning ● Before using the new instrument or after exchanging the strain gage appliedtransducer with a new one, be sure to make calibration. If calibration is not made, correct measured results may not be obtained, or it maycause malfunction to the instrument and it may damage the peripheral equipment. Moreover, even if calibration has made, there may occur the similar case as abovewhen the result is not correct. So make precise calibration again.

● The calibration for the instrument and “Display value at the time of minimum analogoutput”(F−21) and “Display value at the time of maximum analog output” (F−22) arenot interlocked. In due course, make check on the setting for F−21 and F−22 securely. If neglected, correct outputs may not be obtained, or it may cause malfunction to theinstrument and it may damage the peripheral equipment.

4−1. Preparations

According to the Chapter 3. Connecting method, connect the instrument and the signal wires input

the voltage properly, then supply the power.

4−2. Calibration procedures

The display calibration procedures against the voltage input for this instrument are as follows:

1 Calibration method to register the input voltage value at the time of full scale display after

setting the input voltage to 0 V.

2 Calibration procedure to register by the reading the input voltage value in the condition of 0 V

and in the condition of inputting the voltage equivalent to the value at the full scale

individually.

3 Fine adjustment on Zero

4 Fine adjustment on Span

5 Calibration procedures to apply registration again for zero point only.

6 Compensation of symmetric property(Fine adjustment of minus side span)

● The accuracy of calibration obtained from① is 1/1 000 or so. If the accuracy morethan 1/1 000 is required, make calibration of② type.

In the following paragraphs, we will describe each calibration procedure by showing theexamples with load cell applied.

4−2−1. Calibration method to register the input voltage value at the time of full scale display after

setting the input voltage to 0 V.

Warning ● Before using a new instrument, or when the input voltage specifications is changed, orexchange the pressure transmitter for a new one, be sure to make the calibration. Ifcalibration shall not be made, correct measured results may not be obtained nor itmay cause malfunction in the instrument and there may exist damage to theperipheral equipment.Besides, even though the calibration has been made, there may occur the similar casewhen the result is not correct, so make calibration again.

● During the calibration is executing, be sure to make cancellation (Execution of F−98)for compensated data on zero set

● When the changeover target of the calibration data is set to the changeover byexternal control input(Setting of F−80: “00001” or “00011”), execute the calibrationafter the changeover of the calibration data changed by the external controloutput(SEL.1 and SEL.2).

● During calibration procedures, press the key in case of interrupting thecalibration is required. The calibration data will be kept as they are before enteringthe calibration and then returns to the Measurement mode.

● Every time the key is pressed with the setting display section of “FUNC”, the

display will change as the following arrow marks. However, every time the key ispressed, the display will change as the reverse direction of the following arrow marks.“FUNC”→“CCAL”→“LCAL”→“ZERO”→“SPAN”→“TARE”→“CHEK”→“MONT”→“VCAL”→“VADJ”→“SYMM”→“FUNC”→“CCAL”→・・・・・(Hereinafter, it will repeat.)

7−7. Various kinds of functions

Digital filter Stabilizes the data by the computing process through CPU.

Change of target of HOLD With the combination of “Display”,“Comparative output”, “Analogoutput”, “BCD output(Option)”, target of HOLD can be made.

Sheet key lock Prohibition of operation of optional key.

Change of target The target of analog output can be changed either “TRACKof analog output value” and “Interlock of display”.

Change of calibration data Four kinds of calibration data can be memorized, and they beselected by the function or the external control input.(The changeover target of ”Calibration data” and ”Comparatorcode” is set by the function)

Change of comparator code The set value of the comparator of S0, S1, S2, S3 and S4 can bememorized up to four kinds, and do changeover of them by thefunction or the external control input. (The changeover target of”Calibration data” and ”Comparator code” is set by the function)

Selection of Peak mode Selectable from six mode of Peak hold, Bottom hold, Peak/bottomhold, Local maximal value hold, Local minimal value hold andInflection point hold by 24 modes by which four kinds of zone modeof All zone specification, Zone specification, Time zone specificationand Automatic start time zone specification are combined.
