Volleyball

The volleyball was created on February 9th, 1895 by William George Morgan in the United States of America.The creator of the volleyball died on December 27th, 1942 by the age of 72.

The goal of Morgan, who worked in the "YMCA" (ACM), was created a sports team without physical contact between opponents, to minimize the risks.

Initially, it was played with an air chamber of basketball and was named Mintonette, but quickly gained popularity with the name of volleyball.

Recently, beach volleyball, a sport derived from volleyball, has achieved great success in several countries, including Brazil and the USA.

In Brazil

Consists of 12 players,6 real players , 6 substitutes players and 2 sweepers.

In the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the U.S. men's team won the gold medal. In the female category Brazil won the medal.
