Well attended by Rotarians, Rotaryannes, guests and well wishers of Nirav, the installation was a great success, where conversation flowed freely and ideas for the future year were discussed and deliberated upon. The morning started with a fun activity of sorts, to engage Rotarians with the spirit of Rotary. The Squirrel who helped Lord Ram rescue Sita, as we all know, is an apt embodiment of the theory that if every human being does his or her part—even in the smallest way possible— great mountains can be moved. Taking this thought forward, the surprise activity brought together the Rotarians, as they assembled squirrels out of cardboard cut-outs to build the Club’s ‘Squirrel Sena’, at the Ballroom of the Taj Mahal Palace. The force of dedicated individuals, with a burning desire to make the world a better place, were acknowledged and their role for the I coming year was explained. As the various members ease into their new roles and begin to turn the wheels of change, what comes shining through is the stark sense of responsibility and immense passion for the Club’s vision that each of these Rotarians exemplify. s the event came to a close, guests discussed ideas and opportunities over a scrumptious lunch. For a Club as illustrious as the Rotary Club of Bombay, it is this fellowship that helps keep the network

strong and provides opportunities for collaboration as well as ideas and resources that Rotary can put to use in its many projects aimed at the welfare of society. The air was heady with enjoyment, as Rotarians reveled in the achievements of the Club and the celebrated the Spirit of Change.

Adding greater joy to the event were the delightful gift boxes each guest received, packed with delicious biscotti and miniature pies made by President Nirav Shah’s mother. The boxes were a token of appreciation for their relentless faith in President Nirav’s abilities, and a gesture to thank every member for being a part of this milestone in his life. The Baby Pistachio and Almond Biscotti, and Miniature Walnut and Pecan Pies were truly a gourmet tribute to the steady friendship and support of the many Rotarians and guests who attended the event to celebrate this momentous occasion with President Nirav.
